The fabric has a charge and demonstrates a particle efficiency greater than 20% when measured in accordance with TSI 8130A test system at 10.5 ft/min face velocity, and a Klebsiella pneumoniae efficacy log reduction greater than 1.5, as measured in accordance with ASTM E3160 (2018).
Abstract: A system and method for transcoding data. The system includes an adaptive transcoder that transcodes data to produce transcoded data having a first data rate, and transmits the transcoded data to a client device. The adaptive transcoder receives a quality signal. The adaptive transcoder transcodes the data at a second data rate in response to the adaptive transcoder determining that the quality signal indicates that the first data rate is deficient based on at least one of processing capabilities of the client device and network connection capabilities between the adaptive transcoder and the client device.

Abstract: An AV sensor can be cleaned by charging a conductive layer over a sensor surface. The conductive layer may be positively or negatively charged and can repel contaminants having the same polarity away from the sensor. The charging of the conductive layer can be triggered by a determination that the sensor needs cleaning, which can be based on sensor data captured by the sensor or a different sensor. The charging of the conductive layer may include one or more charging cycles, each of which includes charging the conductive layer with two opposing polarities. Another conductive layer may be over the conductive layer. The other conductive layer can be charged with an opposite polarity from the conductive layer so that an electric field is present between the two conductive layers. A piezoelectric layer between the two conductive layers can vibrate under the electric field. The vibration can enhance the cleaning.

Abstract: A fabric bulk bag and a method for constructing the same, the bag including a continuous sidewall, a top portion, and a bottom, all defining a bulk storage space therein; the bottom further comprising eight sides which define an octagonal shape having an enlarged footprint so that the bag wall is sewn to the bottom in less time than a round shaped bag, yet when filled stands more upright with less tendency to lean than the current square shaped bags thereby providing a safer more dependable stacking bulk bag. In the method of producing the fabric bulk bag, the bag is constructed in less time than the prior art round bottom bags, uses less wall fabric than prior art square bottomed bags and when constructed and filled, supports itself more stable on a floor or pallet because it provides substantially more base for the product to rest on. In other embodiments, the bag would be multi-sided with greater than four sides.
Abstract: A pin fin placement assembly utilized to form pin fins in a thermal dissipating feature is provided. The pin fin placement assembly may place the pin fins on an IC die disposed in the IC package. The pin fin placement assembly may assist massively placing the pin fins with desired profiles and numbers on desired locations of the IC die. The plurality of pin fins is formed in a first plurality of apertures in the pin fin placement assembly. A thermal process is then performed to solder the plurality of pin fins on the IC die.
Abstract: Soft material design methods for developing protective panels against a hail with a diameter of more than 25 mm are provided, wherein the protective panel comprises a soft material layer. The methods comprise: selecting a material for the soft material layer, wherein the material has a Young's modulus Esm in a range of 1 MPa to 150 MPa, preferably 5 MPa to 100 MPa; and determining a minimum thickness Tsm of the soft material layer based on the size of a hail and the material properties of the soft material and other materials inside the protective panel. A protection system that includes these protective panels covers a whole vehicle or some fragile parts on the ground.
Abstract: Carbon-neutral fuels are produced from aragonite in a solar thermal decomposition process in which the carbon dioxide generated from the aragonite is catalytically converted to methane, ethanol, or Fischer-Tropsch liquids. Advantageously, heat from the aragonite production can be recovered and used in downstream processes to thereby minimize the carbon footprint of the fuel production.

Abstract: A computing system may generate a first set of importance metrics (e.g., scores or values) for a model. The importance metrics may be generated using an explainable artificial intelligence technique, and an individual importance metric may indicate how influential a corresponding feature is for a decision made by a model. The computing system may determine an important feature and create a modified dataset by removing the important feature from the dataset. The computing system may train the model on the modified dataset and evaluate the performance of the model to determine the effect of removing the feature (e.g., which may indicate how important the feature is to output generated by the model). This process may be repeated for additional features and additional performance metrics may be obtained.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described herein for generating communication modifications to reduce inaccurate machine-learning-based communication suppressions. The system may receive a candidate communication to be sent to a user device or user account. The system may generate a prediction indicating whether a negative action is likely to be taken by a machine learning model with respect to the candidate communication. Based on a prediction that a negative action is likely to be taken by a machine learning model with respect to the candidate communication, the system may modify the candidate communication.
