Abstract: A training device for use with a bicycle includes a shuttle guide member including a lower end and an upper end that define an axis therebetween. A shuttle is operably coupleable to a front end of the bicycle and translatable along the axis by a drive coupled to the shuttle. When coupled to the front end of the bicycle, translation of the shuttle along the axis by the drive results in each of a rotation of the shuttle guide member about a pivot and a change in elevation of the front end of the bicycle.

The first surface of the first cryogenically cooled structure faces the first surface of the second cryogenically cooled structure forming a gap. The gap is configured to receive the medium. The chamber also includes a gas inlet.

Abstract: For a non-volatile memory die formed of multiple blocks of memory cells, the memory die has a multi-bit bad block flag for each block stored on the memory die, such as in a fuse ROM. For each block, the multi-bit flag indicates if the block has few defects and is of the highest reliability category, is too defective to be used, or is in of one of multiple recoverability categories. The multi-bit bad blocks values can be determined as part a test process on fresh devices, where the test of a block can be fail stop for critical category errors, but, for recoverable categories, the test continues and tracks the test results to determine a recoverability category for the block and write this onto the die as a bad block flag for each block. These recoverability categories can be incorporated into wear leveling operations.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods directed to improving the functions of a vehicle. Systems and methods are provided that provide a custom tool that autogenerates a set of software agents that allows a system to separate processing, transmission and receiving of messages to achieve better synchronization. The disclosure herein also provides a simplified method of key provisioning by designating one client as a server and assigning a symmetric key to every other client permanently provisioned between that client and the server. Systems and method are further provided that predict faults in a vehicle. Systems and methods are also provided that preserve data in the event of a system crash. Systems and methods are also provided in which an operating system of a vehicle detects the presence of a new peripheral and pulls the related interface file for that new peripheral. Further, a data synchronization solution is provided herein which provides optimized levels of synchronization.

Abstract: A server set for a data set may designate a subset of “master” servers that update the data set in order to reduce data version conflicts involving mutually exclusive updates of the data set. Multi-master configurations may fulfill the performance constraints, and the subset of masters may detect and resolve data version conflicts. However, if multiple masters perform conflict resolution for a particular data version conflict, the resolution may produce inefficiency and redundancy (if the masters reach the same outcome) or additional data version conflicts (if the masters reach different outcomes). Instead, among the masters, a merge master may be identified that applies conflict resolution techniques to data version conflicts and forwards the conflict resolution outcome to the other masters for application to the data set to resolve the data version conflict. The other masters may temporarily store updates in a tentative update set until data version conflicts are resolved.

Abstract: The present technology relates to an encoding device and an encoding method capable of reducing the amount of information relating to information that specifies a reference image. An encoding unit generates a predicted image using a reference image. A transmission unit transmits inter_ref_pic_set_prediction_flag representing whether reference image specifying information specifying the reference image of a prior image that is an image prior to a current coding image in coding order is used as the reference image specifying information of the current coding image in a case where the current coding image is an image other than a first image of a GOP (Group of Picture). The present technology, for example, can be applied to an encoding device of an HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) system.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods to identify nucleotides of a DNA strand. The method includes exposing the DNA strand to a first dye or peptide, attaching the first dye or peptide to a first type of nucleotide (A,T,C,G) of the DNA strand, the first dye or peptide changing a conductance of the first type of nucleotide to which the first dye or peptide is attached, and measuring a tunneling current signal for all nucleotides of the DNA strand, the changed conductance of the first type of nucleotide providing amplified tunneling current discrimination of the nucleotides of the DNA strand.

Abstract: A thermal interface member configured to be disposed between a heat sink and a heat-releasing device includes a thermal interface member. The thermal interface member has a thermally conductive, cure-in-place, polymer foam pad configured to maintain uniform contact with each of the heat sink and the heat-releasing device. The processor determines an indication of the total number of non-zero coefficients, where determining the indication of the total number of non-zero coefficients comprises encoding the total number of non-zero coefficients by selecting a codeword from a plurality of candidate codewords. The processor prepares CSI, where the CSI comprises the indication of the total number of non-zero coefficients and the transceiver transmits the CSI to the base unit.

Abstract: A method of effecting a tendon repair in a patient comprising providing a suture tape, using the suture tape to connect tendon tissue to bone of the patient such that the suture tape lays flat on the tendon, and permitting ingrowth of the tendon tissue into the suture tape as the absorbable fibers are absorbed into the patient's tissue. The suture tape is a flat braid of elastic, absorbable fibers and high strength fibers, the tape being at least 1 mm wide and 2 cm long, and less than 1 mm high. The suture tape includes at least 4 absorbable fibers and at least 4 high strength fibers. Further, the suture tape is capable of being stretched at least 10% from its shortest length to the length at which it breaks and is capable of withstanding a load of at least 260 Newtons before breaking.

An example method can include determining alignment of a face of a user with an alignment tool provided on a display of a user device. When the face is aligned with the alignment tool the user device is in a preferred orientation. Providing a camera feed on the display, and determining a current orientation of the user device. The method can include presenting selected content on the display in combination with the camera feed. A location of the selected content on the display can be based on the current orientation of the user device. The selected content can be centered on the display when the current orientation substantially matches the preferred orientation.

Abstract: A forest fire retardant composition contains a retardant compound that includes a halide salt, a non-halide salt, a metal oxide, a metal hydroxide, a sulfate salt, or combinations thereof. The forest fire retardant composition may include at least one anhydrous salt and at least one hydrate salt. The sulfate salt may be magnesium sulfate. The magnesium sulfate hydrate has a formula MgSO4(H2O)x, where x is about 1 to about 11. For example, x may be equal to at least one of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 or 11. The composition may be in the form of a dry concentrate, a liquid concentrate, or a final diluted product. The final diluted product is effective in suppressing, retarding, and controlling forest fires while exhibiting corrosion resistance and low toxicity.

Abstract: Examples provide a system for managing access-restricted partial cryptographic keys for encrypting and decrypting data. In some examples, a slot server generates and stores a first partial key. The first partial key is access-restricted based on access control data. A slot value mapped to the storage location is returned to the client by the slot server. The client generates a second partial key which is stored at the client device with the slot value. To obtain the first partial key, the client sends a request to the slot server, including the slot value. The requesting client is validated using access control data. If the request comes from a validated client, the slot server provides the first partial key to the client. The first partial key and the second partial key are combinable to generate a composite key for encrypting and decrypting data.
