Abstract: Systems and methods for facilitating use of physical tokens in a transit system are disclosed. In one implementation, a method for facilitating use of physical tokens by a server includes generating a token identifier and generating, using a private key associated with the server, a cryptographic signature based on the token identifier. The method further includes transmitting the token identifier and the cryptographic signature to a token dispenser. The token dispenser is configured to dispense a physical token, and the physical token is configured to provide the token identifier and the cryptographic signature to a token validator.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for a computing system that receives images that each have a predefined exposure attribute. For each image, a first set of features of the image are extracted. The first set of features are associated with a label indicating no modification of the image is required. A luminosity characteristic of the image is adjusted to form an adjusted image. A second set of features of the adjusted image are extracted. A neural network is trained to adjust luminosity characteristics of images using the first set of features and the second set of features of the adjusted image. An exposure adjustment model adjusts luminosity characteristics of images based on correction values determined using the trained neural network.
Abstract: An illumination system and method is disclosed for maintaining a consistent change in illumination value among a group of illumination devices whenever a change command is manually sent from a keypad to those illumination devices. The consistent change results from maintaining a common start illumination value among not only the group, but also the keypad which controls the group. From the start illumination value, the keypad can then compute an end illumination value depending upon the amount of time that the increase or decrease in illumination value button is depressed and held.

Abstract: A heatsink comprising a heat exchange device having a plurality of heat exchange elements each having a surface boundary with respect to a heat transfer fluid, having successive elements or regions varying according to a fractal relationship. According to one embodiment, a noise spectrum due to fluid flow is wideband. According to another embodiment, surface boundary layers are disrupted to increase heat transfer. Flow-induced vortices may be generated at non-corresponding locations of the plurality of fractally varying heat exchange elements.
Abstract: A storage system with several integrated components and method for use therewith are provided. In one embodiment, a storage system comprising: a plurality of non-volatile memory devices; a controller in communication with the plurality of non-volatile memory devices; a plurality of data buffers in communication with the controller and configured to store data sent between the controller and an input/output bus; and a command and address buffer configured to store commands and addresses sent from a host, wherein the command and address buffer is further configured to synchronize data flow into and out of the plurality of data buffer; wherein at least three of the above components are integrated with each other.

Abstract: A method includes generating spectral image data reproducible as one or more spectral images of a plurality of regions of interest in a sample. The method also includes analyzing the spectral image data to identify a plurality of scattering components in the spectral image data, each of the plurality of scattering components being associated with one or more biological properties of the sample. The method also includes identifying a feature of interest in the sample based at least in part on one or more the identified plurality of scattering components.
Abstract: Techniques for inserting advertising content into digital content are disclosed. The system may determine a compatibility between advertising content and digital content, determine candidate advertising content and candidate digital content using the determined compatibility, determine that the candidate digital content includes an advertising zone specifying an area where advertising content may be inserted, determine that an advertising slot of the candidate advertising content matches the advertising zone, and select digital content from the candidate digital content. The system may further select advertising content from the candidate advertising content, and combine selected digital content and selected advertising content by inserting the selected advertising content into the advertising zone.

Abstract: An acoustic transducer comprises a transducer substrate defining an aperture therein. A diaphragm is disposed on the transducer substrate. The diaphragm comprises a diaphragm inner portion disposed over the aperture such that an outer edge of the diaphragm inner portion is located radially inwards of a rim of the aperture, the diaphragm inner portion having a first stress. A diaphragm outer portion extends radially from the outer edge of the diaphragm inner portion to at least the rim of the aperture, the diaphragm outer portion having a second stress different from the first stress.
Abstract: Exploding foil initiator apparatus, system, and method that improve the current density in the bridge region by modifying the shape and dimensions of the bridge and related components. The exploding foil initiator reduces burn-back by making areas of the bridge thicker except directly under the flyer. The exploding foil initiator boards are built so the flyer is not connected to the rest of the top cover-lay. This avoids losing energy due to the flyer having to tear away from the solid cover-lay.
