Abstract: A computer-implemented method for interactive shopping by a customer includes providing a downloadable user interface readable on a mobile electronic device that receives shopping list data representing items in a shopping list associated with the customer and receives coupon data representing coupons held by the customer for one or more of the items in an inventory of items for sale at a retail store. The shopping list includes items selected by the customer from the inventory of items. The method may further include receiving a request to checkout from the customer and, in response thereto, consummating a sale of the items in an electronic shopping cart by discounting a price of each item in the electronic shopping cart for which the customer holds coupons by an amount corresponding to the respective coupons.

The testing apparatus includes a fluid valve connected to the vent port, an upstream sensor fluidly connected between the vent port and the fluid valve, in which the upstream sensor determines a fluid parameter associated with fluid within the fluid conduits in the tubing annulus, and a downstream sensor connected between the fluid valve and external environmental conditions, in which the downstream sensor determines another fluid parameter associated with fluid released from the fluid conduits in the tubing annulus while the fluid valve is in an opened state.
Abstract: Determining to initiate a user equipment handover event based on a signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio value is disclosed. The disclosed subject matter can employ the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio value in lieu of a reference signal receive power value. In an aspect, a handover based on the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio value can generally be determined faster and with greater reliability than basing the handover on the reference signal receive power value. In an aspect, some embodiments can substitute a determined uplink signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio value for a downlink signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio value. In some embodiments, a predicted signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio value can be determined based on historical channel characteristics, hysterical wireless network environment features, or other historical data.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for provisionally crediting a financial account of a gaming environment based on player funds received by gaming devices in the form of wagers. The financial account can be maintained at a financial institution. The player funds can be currency, electronic funds, or combinations therefor. Once the currency is physically transferred to the financial institution, the provisional credit can be converted to a full credit. Similarly, for wagers using electronic funds, once the settled funds are received by the financial institution, the provisional credit can be converted to a full credit. Using provisional credits, benefits from the funds can be enjoyed by the gaming operator prior to the physical currency and/or settled funds being received and processed by the financial institution.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing and validating a digital ticket are disclosed. In one implementation, a ticket validating device includes one or more processors configured to obtain a digital ticket, a ticket-server signature, and a device signature from a ticket holder's device. The digital ticket is obtained from a ticket server by the ticket holder's device, the ticket-server signature is generated based on the digital ticket using a private key associated with the ticket server, and the device signature is generated based on the digital ticket using a private key associated with the ticket holder's device. The one or more processors are further configured to validate the digital ticket. The validation of the digital ticket includes verifying the ticket-server signature using a public key corresponding to the private key associated with the ticket server, and verifying the device signature using a public key corresponding to the private key associated with the ticket holder's device.

Abstract: A cap for an extruder of a three-dimensional printer is removeable and replaceable on the hot end of the extruder, e.g., for cleaning or other maintenance of the cap or extruder. The cap may be formed of a polymer having a lower thermal conductivity than the hot end of the extruder such that the cap forms a thermal barrier between the hot end of the extruder and an external environment. Further, the cap may protect the hot end of the extruder from damaging contact with deposited build material (e.g., spatters) as well as other undesirable contact during a three-dimensional printing process.
Abstract: Techniques for value-based data reputation management in a data marketplace environment are provided. For example, a method comprises the following steps. In a data marketplace environment with at least one data producer and at least one data consumer, an electronic data storage area is established, by one of the data producer and the data consumer, for receiving and storing feedback data from the other of the data producer and the data consumer. The feedback data relates to a transaction between the data producer and the data consumer with respect to a given data set.
Abstract: Some aspects relate to systems and methods for fly-by-wire reversionary flight control including a pilot control, a plurality of sensors configured to: sense control data associated with the pilot control, and transmit the control data, a first actuator communicative with the plurality of sensors configured to receive the control data, determine a first command datum as a function of the control data and a distributed control algorithm, and actuate a first control element according to the first command datum.

Abstract: A waveguide disclosed herein may be implemented as a hollow irregular hexagonal metal structure which receives an electromagnetic signal and propagates the signal through the hollow hexagonal metal structure. The waveguide may be fabricated using metal additive manufacturing techniques and include one or more downward facing and unsupported surfaces.
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and systems for valve trim apparatus for use with control valves are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a valve body including a fluid flow path between an inlet and an outlet. The example apparatus also includes valve trim positioned in the fluid flow path, the valve trim including a first passageway extending from the inlet to the outlet, the first passageway including a first pressure staged passage and a second pressure staged passage, the second pressure staged passage including a first radial passageway.
Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes causing a first one of a plurality of digital photographs to be displayed on a video display device. Responsive to receiving an indication that a user desires to digitally link the first digital photograph with another one of the plurality of photographs, the method includes prompting the user to select one of the plurality of digital photographs to be digitally linked to the first digital photograph. Responsive to the user selecting a second one of the plurality of digital photographs, the method includes digitally linking the first digital photograph with the second digital photograph. The method includes causing the first digital photograph to be displayed with a user-selectable flipping element. Responsive to receiving a selection of the displayed user-selectable flipping element, the method includes causing the first digital photograph to be digitally flipped such that the second digital photograph is displayed on the video display device.

The example retainer apparatus also includes a plug retainer to be removably coupled to the post. The plug retainer of the example retainer apparatus is to move relative to the post between the first end of the post and the second end of the post.
Abstract: A system and method for predicting an outcome specific signal (OSS) in test subject images. The method includes detecting the OSS in image data from outcome and control subjects; extracting a volumetric space containing the detected OSS and dividing the extracted volumetric space into a first set of sub-regions; determining a set of image features for the first set of sub-regions; determining a global feature set (GFS) by averaging the set of image features; utilizing a machine learning algorithm to select a subset of discriminant GFS to determine a best signal model (BSM) that distinguishes the outcome and control subjects; extracting volumetric space containing the target anatomy in test subject images and dividing the extracted volumetric space into a second set of sub-regions; and determining the subset of discriminant GFS at each of the second set of sub-regions, and using them in the BSM to generate the predicted OSS.
Abstract: A bicycle rack is described with an actuated arm that pivots to an open position in response to user activation of the actuator. The actuator is attached to the rack and the arm and exerts a force on the arm by extension to pivot the actuated arm to the open position. The actuator extends only when a release mechanism has been actuated by a user, but a user may pivot the actuated arm back to a closed position, or a position securing a bicycle, without actuating the release. The actuated arm will then be retained at a position selected by the user until the release is actuated by the user again.
