Abstract: Introduced here is an acoustic collection device that is designed to extend the path along which sound waves can be collected by a microphone. An acoustic collection device can include a tubular body that has (i) a distal interface through which sound waves corresponding to sounds internal to a living body are collected and (ii) a proximal interface through which the sound waves are presented to a microphone. A channel defined by the inner surface of the tubular body extends between the distal and proximal interfaces. The channel allows the sound waves to travel from the distal interface to the proximal interface. The acoustic collection device could be connected to the housing of an electronic device that is used to record the sound waves, or the acoustic collection device could be implemented in an input unit for an electronic stethoscope system.
Abstract: The present invention relates to antisense oligonucleotides which are complementary to conserved TDP-43 binding sites on pre-mRNA transcripts, which are capable of restoring RNA binding protein function in the processing of multiple independent mRNAs in TDP-43 depleted cells. Abstract: A back projection screen that allows the awake patient to move the head and neck freely and yet be able to look at the images that are displayed during surgery, but at the same time allows a surgery crew, in particular an anesthesiologist, to watch the airway passage and the consciousness state of the patient, and to monitor signs including color of the lips, eyes movement, verbal responses, skin sensitivity, and the like, as well as to maneuver for intubation or other procedures without removing the screen during surgery. The back projection screen allows also eye contact and/or face to face interaction, physically or virtually, with the surgeon or other members of the surgery team for effective communication and is suitable for easy cleaning or disinfection from bacteria or viruses as required by operating rooms.
Abstract: A torsional damper is provided having a hub in which a boss adapted to be fixed to a rotating shaft, such as a crankshaft of an engine, and an annular rim are integrally provided via a plurality of stays, and an annular vibration ring connected to an outer circumferential surface of the rim via an elastic body. The stays have a circumferential width dimension that does not exceed one-quarter of the wavelength of the axial resonant frequency of the hub, and are thickened within a range in which the axial thickness dimension does not exceed one-half of the wavelength of the axial resonant frequency of the hub. Thickening of the stays is implemented by, for example, setting the axial thickness dimension thereof to a length equal to or more than one-quarter of the wavelength of the axial resonant frequency of the hub. The stays have an axially inclined shape.

Abstract: The viscous building material with phosphorescence is a chemical compound. The viscous building material with phosphorescence is formed as a viscous colloid. The viscous building material with phosphorescence is applied as a viscous fluid between two objects. The viscous building material with phosphorescence performs a structural function selected from the group consisting of: a) forming a fluid impermeable seal between the two objects; and, b) forming an adhesive seal that holds the two objects in a fixed position relative to each other. The viscous building material with phosphorescence illuminates in the dark to form a beacon. The viscous building material with phosphorescence incorporates a structural compound and a phosphorescent compound. The structural compound and the phosphorescent compound are mixed to form the viscous colloid of the viscous building material with phosphorescence.
