Abstract: A hand held appliance and holder assembly comprising a holder including means adapted for mounting to a supporting surface, a first end portion, a second end portion, and a cradle portion intermediate the end portions, and a hand held appliance including a handle portion including an inner end, an outer end releasably engaged by one of the end portions, and an intermediate part located between the inner and outer ends, received in the cradle portion, and including an off-on switch including a member moveable between an off position and an on position and being displaceable to the off position incident to receipt of the intermediate part into the cradle portion, and an operating portion attached to the inner end of the handle portion and releasably engaged by the other of the end portions.

Abstract: A diffuser for a hair dryer having an air discharge nozzle, the diffuser comprising a body having a side wall defining a first opening adapted to communicate with the nozzle and a second opening. The body defines an air passage communicable between the first and second openings for conducting therebetween an air flow. Also included is a grill overlying the second opening and defining a plurality of discharge openings, and a plurality of generally hollow fingers extending from the grill outwardly of the air passage. The fingers define respective finger discharge openings and respective finger discharge passage portions communicable between the air passage and the finger discharge openings. In addition there is included a valve for selectively and adjustably controlling the flow of air from the air passage through the discharge openings and the finger discharge openings.

Abstract: A cutting blade drive assembly for a hair clipper comprises a frame and a driven assembly rotatable on the frame about an axis fixed relative to the frame. The driven assembly includes a tension spring, and a cutting blade is engaged by the tension spring for reciprocal movement in response to oscillation of the drive assembly. The driven assembly also includes a mechanism for adjusting the tension in the tension spring. A drive unit on the frame operatively connects the driven assembly with an electric motor, which can also be supported on the frame, for oscillating the driven assembly about the axis to impart reciprocative movement to the cutting blade engaged by the driven assembly. The cutting blade drive assembly can be removably supported as an integral unit in the housing of a hair clipper so that the entire drive assembly may be readily removed from the housing for repair or replacement.
