Abstract: A video signal transmitting device having analog and digital video signal output functionality is adapted to transmit a video signal, and has a cable unit, a digital visual interface integrated input port disposed at one end of the cable unit and adapted to receive the video signal, and a digital visual interface output port and an analog video signal output port disposed at the other end of the cable unit. The digital visual interface integrated input port has a first pin set for digital video signals, and a second pin set for analog video signals. The digital visual interface output port is connected to the first pin set through the cable unit, and the analog video signal output port is connected to the second pin set through the cable unit so as to achieve an effect of respectively outputting digital video signals and analog video signals.

Abstract: A host unit case with foldable lateral walls for a computer provides a lateral wall, which is composed of a first plate member and a second plate member and the plate members pivotally connect with each other. The first and second plate members are pivotally connected with a front wall and the first lateral edge of a rear wall. The lower end of the rear wall pivotally connects with the rear end of a lower cover. All parts are capable of being folded easily to reduce volume of the packaged host unit case. When the packaged host unit case is unfolded, the front and rear walls are joined to the upper and lower covers respectively such that the host unit case is set up completely conveniently and quickly.

Abstract: A host unit case with upper and lower covers for a computer includes an upper cover and a lower cover and each of the covers is composed of two plate members pivotally connecting with each other. A first wall and a second wall each have the upper and lower ends thereof pivotally connecting with one of the plate members available for all parts being folded easily to reduce volume of the packaged host unit case. When the packaged host unit case is unfolded, the upper and lower ends of the first wall are joined to the first ends of the upper and lower covers respectively and the upper and lower ends of the second wall are joined to the second ends of the upper and lower covers respectively such that the host unit case is set up completely conveniently and quickly.

Abstract: A computer includes a main housing having a front wall formed with a slot therethrough, and a luminous device. The luminous device includes an elongated insert plate and a light source. The insert plate is made of a transparent light conducting material, and has an insert portion disposed fixedly within the slot in the main housing, and a serrated reflecting portion disposed behind the insert portion and formed with a plurality of interconnected light-reflecting surfaces. Any two adjacent reflecting surfaces form an angle therebetween. The light source is attached fixedly to the insert plate, and directs light toward the reflecting portion of the insert plate. Light emitted from the light source is diffused by the reflecting surfaces so that the insert portion of the insert plate has a uniform luminescence distribution.

Abstract: In an assembly of a heat-dissipating device and a circuit board, the circuit board has a heat-generating component and is formed with board holes. The heat-dissipating device includes a base plate, a heat-dissipating component, fastening members, biasing members, engaging members, and resilient washers. The base plate abuts against the heat-generating component, and is formed with through-holes. The heat-dissipating component is disposed on the base plate. Each fastening member has a shank part extending through one through-hole and one board hole, a head part, and a threaded connection part. Each biasing member abuts against the base plate and the head part of one fastening member. Each engaging member is disposed at a lower surface of the circuit board and engages the threaded connection part of one fastening member. Each washer is sleeved on one fastening member, and abuts against an upper surface of the circuit board.

Abstract: A dually foldable host unit case for a computer includes a first plate member, an upper cover member, a lower cover, a front wall and a rear wall. The first plate member pivotally connects with the upper cover, the lower cover, the front wall and the rear wall respectively. The preceding parts are capable of being folded to allow the host unit case being reduced volume thereof while packaging and capable of being extended to allow the second lateral sides of the front and rear walls and the second lateral sides of the upper and lower covers are pivotally connected for setting up the host unit case conveniently and quickly.

Abstract: A fastening mechanism includes a mounting seat mounted on a frame body, disposed at a mounting hole in a frame body, and configured with an accommodating space therein. The mounting seat has a mounting wall formed with an opening for access into the accommodating space, and an outer surrounding wall connected to a periphery of the mounting wall. An engaging member extends movably in the accommodating space in the mounting seat, and is operable so as to move from a releasing position, where the engaging member disengages a fastening hole in a peripheral device, to an anchoring position, where the engaging member engages the fastening hole in the peripheral device such that the peripheral device is fastened to the frame body. The engaging member can be retained releasably in a selected one of the anchoring and releasing positions.

Abstract: A linkage mechanism for foot seats comprises at least two shafts and two guide elements combined at the bottom of a housing, a foot seat is pivotally connected to each shaft, an arc rack is disposed at a relative end of each foot seat, a rack is disposed at each one of two sides of a linking rod corresponding to the arc rack of each foot seat; the racks is respectively engaged the said arc rack of each said foot seat; therefore, when one of the foot seats is rotated, the linking rod is driven to move and the other foot seats are then further driven to rotate. Whereby, the adjustment of the movable foot seats are munch more convenient and time-saving.

Abstract: A fastening unit for securing brackets on a frame of a computer housing includes a seat having at least two parallel mounting walls that define a mounting space therebetween, and at least one pressing member that has a pressing part, that is disposed in the mounting space, and that is pivoted to the mounting walls so as to be rotatable relative to the seat between a pressing position, in which the pressing part thereof presses a portion of the respective bracket against the frame, and a releasing position, in which the pressing part thereof is moved away from the portion of the respective bracket.

Abstract: An optical disc drive includes a housing, a positioning shaft fixed on the housing, and a tray module. The tray module includes a tray installed inside the housing with the ability to slide, a solenoid fixed on the tray for providing magnetic force, a latch installed beside the solenoid moving in response to changes in magnetic force, a push pod fixed on the tray in a rotatable manner with one end connected to the latch and the other end forming a slot, a hook rotatably fixed on the tray with one end for engaging the positioning shaft and the other end connected to the push pod, a torsion spring fixed on the pivot of the push pod, and a compression spring installed in a track of the housing. One end of the compression spring is fixed in the slot of the push pod.

Abstract: A method of unbalanced disc detection in a slim type optical drive. In the method of the present invention, the slim type optical drive obtains a first tracking count per round of the disc at a first rotation speed to obtain a first runout. Then, the optical drive obtains a second tracking count per round of the disc at a second rotation speed to obtain a second runout. Finally, deviation of the disc is assessed according to the first runout and the second runout, so that the disc can be determined to be a gravitationally eccentric disc or not.

Abstract: A computer housing includes a disc storage device mounted detachably on a top surface of a housing body. The disc storage device includes a casing formed with a receiving recess for receiving an optical disc, a cover body connected pivotally to the casing and operable so as to move from a closed position to an open position, a biasing member disposed between the casing and the cover body for biasing the cover body to move from the closed position to the open position, and a releasable retaining member disposed on the casing and the cover body for retaining the cover body at the closed position. An engaging unit is disposed on a lower side of the casing of the disc storage device and the top surface of the housing body for detachable engagement between the housing body and the casing of the disc storage device.

Abstract: An optical disk drive has a pick-up head for emitting laser beams, and an analog front-end circuit controlled by a microprocessor for controlling the operation of the pick-up head. An automatic control method for generating stable laser power of the optical disk drive includes getting a power reference function measured by a fixed quantity of optical disk sample drives, establishing the relationship between the laser power control signal of pick-up head from the analog front-end circuit by the microprocessor, and calculating the difference amount from a feedback signal minus a reference voltage on pick-up head side to generate a first function. When the analog front-end circuit receives this feedback signal, this method will be enabled automatically and adjust the first function of the laser power control signal to approach the reference function so as to adjust the intensity of the laser power generated by the pick-up head.

Abstract: A cooling system includes a cooling fan, a fan input-output module for transmitting a control signal to the fan for controlling the rotational speed of the fan, and a chipset interface for generating the fan control signal based on a change in a vital temperature of the computer system. Further provided is a controller for receiving the vital temperature and forwarding the vital temperature to the chipset interface, and a temperature transducer for generating the vital temperature and outputting the vital temperature to the controller. The chipset interface monitors a rotational speed of the cooling fan, and monitors a vital temperature of the computer system. The chipset interface then sets the fan power based on a change in the vital temperature. When the vital temperature decreases, the fan power is reduced to slow the fan, and when the vital temperature increases, the fan power is increased to speed the fan.
