  • Patent number: 12107472
Abstract: Aspects of the subject technology relate to a shaker module for an electronic device. The shaker module may include a movable component that is resiliently suspended in relation to a voice coil by one or more gap-separated pairs of the flat springs. The flat springs reduce the z-height of the shaker module for implementation in, for example, compact electronic devices. The gap-separated pairs of flat springs facilitate adjustment of the resonance frequency of the shaker module substantially independently of adjustments to drop performance, while providing stability against unwanted rocking motions of the movable component.

  • Publication number: 20240323742
Abstract: In some implementations, a computing system can perform crowd sourced access point mapping using privacy preserving techniques. For example, a server device can receive access point data reports from multiple user devices that includes various attributes and/or measurements with respect to access points with which the user devices have established connections. The access point data reports can be delivered without identifying the user devices, or users thereof, and their exact locations. Based on the access point data reports, the server device can map locations of access points and relationships between access points to generate network topologies, network locations, network quality scores, and various other characteristics of networks and/or access points. The generated access point data can be served to user devices so that the user devices can improve the efficiency of the interactions between user devices and the detected access points and/or networks.

  • Publication number: 20240320897
Abstract: A computing device performs a first operation before a first commit deadline, resulting in a first frame being rendered and displayed in a first cycle. A second operation is performed, before a second commit deadline, resulting in a second frame being rendered and displayed in a second cycle. A time remaining to a third commit deadline is determined, using the current time. A third operation is predicted, performable before a third commit deadline. An additional operation is predicted, performable for a future cycle. A total processing time for the third and additional operations is determined, being less than the remaining time. The third and additional operations are performed for use in a future cycle. The result of the third operation is used to render a third frame for the third cycle. The result of the additional operation is used to render an additional frame before a future render deadline.

  • Publication number: 20240318977
Abstract: Techniques described herein are used to identify buildings that intersect or otherwise overlap a road, and independently scaling the buildings until they no longer overlap. For example, a computer system may identify an intersection condition corresponding to an intersection between a first polygon of a first type and a second polygon of a second type. The first polygon may include a set of edges connected by a set of vertexes. The computer system may select a first pivot point for the first polygon, which includes a vertex of the set of vertexes or a midpoint of one edge of the set of edges. The computer system may perform an iterative scaling operation. The computer system may determine, based on the iterative scaling operation, a polygon transformation that avoids the intersection condition. The computer system may cause rendering, on a display, of a map view that includes the polygon transformation.
