Patent number: 11974338Abstract: In some implementations a system can be configured to reduce the burden of pairing user devices with playback devices. For example, all users (or user devices) who commonly operate within a particular environment (e.g., a home) can be configured as authorized users of playback devices within the particular environment. When one of the authorized users pairs a user device with a playback device, all of the user devices for all authorized users can be automatically paired with the playback device as a result of the single pairing. Thus, only a single authorized user is burdened with the pairing process in order to pair all authorized users with the playback device.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2021Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Deepak Iyer, Thomas Alsina, Edward T. Patent number: 11971753Abstract: An electronic device may have a flexible display. The electronic device may have housing portions that are rotatably coupled to each other so that the flexible display may fold along one or more bend axes. A device may have rollers that store a flexible display and that help deploy the display from within a housing when additional display area is desired. A touch screen in a housing may be overlapped by a flexible display that has been scrolled outwardly from the housing. Wireless transmitter and receiver circuitry may be used to convey image data to display driver circuitry. The display driver circuitry may display images on a pixel array in a flexible display based on the image data. Magnets may be used to outwardly bias edge-mounted bistable support structures to help prevent a rolled flexible display from wrinkling.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2023Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventor: Scott A. Patent number: 11971760Abstract: An electronic device may include a printed circuit with a surface-mounted component. The component may produce resistive heating within the printed circuit. Resistive thermal devices (RTDs) may be embedded within the printed circuit. An RTD may at least partially overlap the electrical component. The RTD may include contact pads on a flexible substrate and a meandering conductive trace between the contact pads. The trace may have a resistance varying linearly as a function of temperature. A data acquisition system (DAQ) may measure the resistance of the RTD. Control circuitry may identify the temperature of the printed circuit based on the resistance of the RTD measured by the DAQ and may reduce power consumption by the component when the temperature exceeds a threshold. This may serve to prevent overheating in the printed circuit over time, thereby maximizing the operating life of the printed circuit.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2021Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventor: Anne M. Patent number: 11972823Abstract: A controller includes an interface and circuitry. The interface communicates with memory cells arranged in multiple address locations. Storage nodes holding storage values included in the memory cells are accessible using select transistors powered by an adjustable supply voltage. The circuitry reads data units protected by an Error Correction Code (ECC) from the memory cells and decode the ECC of the data units. Upon detecting, using the ECC, that a given data unit read from a given address location contains one or more errors, the circuitry logs an error event specifying at least a time of occurrence associated with the error event and the given address location. The circuitry identifies that the select transistors experience physical degradation due to aging, based on the times of occurrence and address locations logged in the error events, and adjusts the supply voltage provided to the select transistors to compensate for the physical degradation.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 2022Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: APPLE INC.Inventor: Assaf Shappir
