    Abstract: Disclosed herein are apparatuses, systems, and methods using or implementing dynamic resource allocation (DRA) of resources for machine-type communication (MTC), as a secondary partition within a system bandwidth. Allocations outside the secondary partition are configured as a primary partition for other than MTC. Apparatuses may perform MTC communications within the secondary partition when DRA configuration information includes allocation information for the secondary partition and the apparatus is configured for MTC. Otherwise, if the apparatus is other than MTC, the apparatus may refrain from performing communications in the secondary partition. Other embodiments are described.

    Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for performing digital pre-distortion compensation of digital-to-analog converter non-linearity are described. A correction circuit receives a digital input word and couples a portion of the most significant bits (MSB's) of the digital input word to a correction lookup table (LUT). A correction value is retrieved from a correction LUT entry that matches the MSB's of the digital input word. Next, the correction value is added to the original digital input word in the digital domain. Then, the sum generated by adding the correction value to the original digital input word is optionally clipped if the sum exceeds the DAC core's input range. Next, the DAC core converts the sum into an analog value that is representative of the digital input word. The above approach helps to reduce non-linearities introduced by the DAC core in an energy-efficient manner by performing a correction in the digital domain.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for scheduling threads on a processor that has at least two different core types, such as an asymmetric multiprocessing system. Each core type can run at a plurality of selectable voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS) states. Threads from a plurality of processes can be grouped into thread groups. Execution metrics are accumulated for threads of a thread group and fed into a plurality of tunable controllers for the thread group. A closed loop performance control (CLPC) system determines a control effort for the thread group and maps the control effort to a recommended core type and DVFS state. A closed loop thermal and power management system can limit the control effort determined by the CLPC for a thread group, and limit the power, core type, and DVFS states for the system. Deferred interrupts can be used to increase performance.

    Abstract: If a user loses an electronic device that has the capability to conduct financial transactions, the user may report that the electronic device is lost using a lost-device software application to a management electronic device associated with a provider of the electronic device. In response to receiving this information, a disabling command is sent to a payment network associated with the financial account of the user to temporarily disable use of the electronic device to conduct the financial transactions. In particular, the electronic device may include a secure element that stores a payment applet for a financial account, and the disabling command may disable a mapping from a virtual identifier for the financial account to a financial primary account number. Subsequently, if the user finds the electronic device, the user may re-enable the capability (and, thus, the mapping) by providing authentication information to the electronic device.

In turn, when an inadvertent shutdown of the computing device occurs, the silos of which the context information is comprised can be sequentially accessed and restored in an efficient manner.

    Abstract: The present application relates to small data transmission (SDT). In an example, SDT is available for transferring information between a UE and a network, where a NAS layer of the UE is in a 5GMM-CONNECTED mode with an RRC inactive indication and an AS layer of the UE is in an RRC_INACTIVE state. To do so, the UE can be pre-configured to classify the information as qualifying for SDT. In addition, resources can be pre-configured for the SDT. For instance, the UE can maintain a set of radio bearers in a suspended state. While the NAS layer is in the 5GMM-CONNECTED mode with the inactive indication and the AS layer is in the RRC_INACTIVE state, one or more of the pre-configured resources can be used to transmit the information between the UE and the network.
