  • Patent number: 11228864
Abstract: In some implementations, a first computing device can send notifications at times that the first computing device is not in an expected location. A user of a second computing device can remotely configure an expected location for the first computing device, which may be a particular location for a certain period of time. During that time, the first computing device can monitor its own location and check whether it is within the expected location. If the first computing device unexpectedly leaves or fails to enter the expected location, the first computing device may transmit a notification to the second computing device. Similarly, if the first computing device loses connectivity with other devices, a server device may notify the second computing device that the location of the first computing device cannot be determined.

  • Patent number: 11228935
Abstract: A base station and mobile device (UE) may coordinate transmission of reference signals and reception of corresponding channel state information (CSI) reports. If a periodic reference signal is scheduled for transmission outside the on-duration period of the UE, even if the reference signal corresponds to a periodic CSI report scheduled to be transmitted by the UE during the on-duration period, the base station may not transmit the periodic reference signal, thereby allowing the UE not to prematurely exit a low-power state. The base station may instead transmit an aperiodic reference signal at a specified point in time later than the scheduled transmission of the periodic reference signal. The UE may receive the aperiodic reference signal and either transmit the periodic CSI report or an aperiodic CSI report in response, depending on how close to the start of the on-duration period the transmission of the periodic CSI report is scheduled.

  • Patent number: 11226625
Abstract: Signals usable to determine a path of a vehicle towards a particular stopping point in a vicinity of a destination are detected from an individual authorized to provide guidance with respect to movements of the vehicle. Based at least in part on the signals and a data set pertaining to the external environment of the vehicle, one or more vehicular movements to be implemented to proceed along the path are identified. A directive is transmitted to a motion control subsystem of the vehicle to initiate one of the vehicular movements.

  • Patent number: 11226752
Abstract: Systems, methods and mechanisms for efficiently calibrating memory signals. In various embodiments, a computing system includes at least one processor, a memory and a power manager. The power manager generates and sends updated power-performance states (p-states) to the processor and the memory. Logic within a memory controller for the memory initializes a first timer corresponding to a first p-state of the multiple p-states to indicate a duration for skipping memory calibration. The logic continues to update the first timer while transferring data with the memory using operating parameters of the first p-state. When the memory is not using operating parameters of the first p-state, the logic prevents updates of the first timer. When the power manager determines to transition the memory from the first p-state to a second p-state, and the second timer for the second e-state has not expired, the logic prevents calibration of the memory.

  • Patent number: 11222652
Abstract: A learning based system such as a deep neural network (DNN) is disclosed to estimate a distance from a device to a speech source. The deep learning system may estimate the distance of the speech source at each time frame based on speech signals received by a compact microphone array. Supervised deep learning may be used to learn the effect of the acoustic environment on the non-linear mapping between the speech signals and the distance using multi-channel training data. The deep learning system may estimate the direct speech component that contains information about the direct signal propagation from the speech source to the microphone array and the reverberant speech signal that contains the reverberation effect and noise. The deep learning system may extract signal characteristics of the direct signal component and the reverberant signal component and estimate the distance based on the extracted signal characteristics using the learned mapping.
