Abstract: Apparatus, systems, and methods to implement receive beamforming in communication systems are described. In one example, apparatus of an evolved Node B (eNB) comprising processing circuitry to receive, from a user equipment (UE), a beamforming reference signal received power (BRS-RP) measurement and in response to the BRS-RP measurement, configure a downlink (DL) transmit (Tx) beamforming and a receiving (Rx) beamforming process on the UE. Other examples are also disclosed and claimed.
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for remote interference management (RIM) in wireless networks, including RIM reference signals (RIM-RS) transmitted to assist victim radio access network (RAN) nodes to identify aggressor RAN nodes due to, for example, atmospheric ducting. The RIM-RS is also flexibly configured. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.
Abstract: An automated environment can include multiple controller devices capable of communicating with multiple accessory devices. The controller devices can automatically elect one of their number as a coordinator device for the environment and can automatically perform a new election if an incumbent coordinator becomes unavailable or resigns. The election processes can be transparent to any users. An elected coordinator can perform various operations to facilitate management of the automated environment, including routing of communications between controllers and accessories.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure describe methods, apparatuses, storage media, and systems for determining dynamic power sharing in a dual connectivity network. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
Abstract: An accessory communication control protocol can facilitate faster and more secure transmission of status updates from an accessory to a controller (or network base station). An accessory can register with a controller, where the controller can provide some subscription and key generation information to the accessory. The accessory can detect changes to characteristics of the accessory and generate a broadcast notification that includes updates to the state of the characteristic. The broadcast notification can also include a counter, a device identifier, and a key. According to timing or rules, the accessory can transmit the broadcast notification to the controller without the need to establish a secure session with the controller.
Abstract: A system comprises an encoder configured to compress attribute information and/or spatial for a point cloud and/or a decoder configured to decompress compressed attribute and/or spatial information for the point cloud. To compress the attribute and/or spatial information, the encoder is configured to convert a point cloud into an image based representation. Also, the decoder is configured to generate a decompressed point cloud based on an image based representation of a point cloud.

Abstract: A wireless communication device (UE) may conduct wireless communications using one or more antennas according to multiple radio access technologies (RAT) associated with corresponding operating frequency bands. The UE may perform adaptive antenna tuning, for example, application-based antenna tuning for increasing the operating efficiency of the UE, which may improve user experience. The UE may periodically identify one or more applications running on the UE, the respective RATs that support the (running) applications, and which of the corresponding frequency bands are used by the (running) applications. The UE may determine the tuner device settings for tuning the one or more antenna(s) based on the (running) applications or the type and/or priority of the (running) applications, which RATs support the running applications, which of the corresponding frequency bands are used by the (running) applications, and operating conditions associated with the frequency bands used by the (running) applications.

Abstract: A memory subsystem and method for performing calibrations therein is disclosed. A memory subsystem includes a memory controller coupled to a memory by a plurality of signal paths. The memory controller is configured to perform an initial calibration to determine respective eye patterns corresponding to the ones of the plurality of signal paths. For a subsequent calibrations, updated eye patterns are determined for a subset of the plurality of signal paths. Remaining ones of the plurality of signal paths (not included in the subset), are not active during the subsequent calibrations. Updated eye patterns for the remaining ones of the plurality of signal paths are determined based on information obtained during the initial calibration and information from signal paths in the subset designated proxies for the remaining ones of the plurality of signal paths.

Abstract: A device receives a user input that corresponds with a sequence of characters. In response to the user input, the device displays simulated handwritten text that includes varying the appearance of characters in the simulated handwritten text based on variations in handwritten text of a respective user. In response to receiving the user input and in accordance with a determination that a first criterion is met, a first character in the sequence of characters has a first appearance that corresponds to the appearance of the first character in handwritten text of the respective user. In accordance with a determination that a second criterion is met, the first character in the sequence of characters has a second appearance that corresponds to the appearance of the first character in handwritten text of the respective user. The second appearance of the first character is different than the first appearance of the first character.

Abstract: A method and a communication device adapted for designing a hybrid beamforming (HB) precoding used in a mobile communication system with an antenna array, the method including aggregating spatial channel vectors received by the antenna array; performing a linear factorization of the aggregation; truncating the linear factorization to generate truncated channels; and designing the HB precoding based on the truncated channels. wherein the HB precoding includes a linearly generated analog beamforming component and a linearly generated digital beamforming component.
Abstract: Wireless communication between two electronic devices may be used to determine a distance between the two devices, even in the presence of an otherwise-disruptive attacker. A wireless receiver system of one device may receive a true wireless ranging signal from a first transmitting device and a false wireless ranging signal from an attacker. The wireless receiver system may correlate the wireless signals with a known preamble sequence and perform channel estimation using the result, obtaining a channel impulse response for the wireless signals. The wireless receiver system may filter the channel impulse response for the plurality of wireless signals by removing at least part of the channel impulse response due to the false wireless ranging signal while not removing at least part of the channel impulse response due to the true wireless ranging signal. The receiver system may perform a wireless ranging operation using the filtered channel impulse response.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to handover between cellular base stations. In some embodiments that use dual-connectivity handover, disclosed techniques may facilitate synchronization of a security configuration switch. In some embodiments, the base station and/or mobile device determine activation sequence numbers for the security configuration switch (e.g., by estimating when a path switch will occur). In some embodiments, the security configuration switch is implicitly detected based in deciphering failure. In some embodiments, the security configuration switch is explicitly signaled and is checked based on deciphering failure. In some embodiments that use make before break handover techniques, a source base station may be retained after the path switch.
Abstract: Techniques for implementing and/or operating an electronic device that includes a display panel, which displays an image and includes a first panel section implemented with a lower pixel resolution and a second panel section implemented with a higher pixel resolution, an optical sensor disposed behind the first panel section of the display panel, and image processing circuitry communicatively coupled to the display panel. The image processing circuitry receives source image data corresponding with the image, in which the source image data is indicative of target luminance of a display pixel, determines a pixel resolution surrounding the display pixel, processes the source image based at least in part on the pixel resolution surrounding the display pixel to facilitate determining display image data corresponding with the display pixel, and outputs the display image data to enable the display panel to display the image based on the display image data.
