  • Patent number: 12389457
Abstract: A wireless network may include a base station and user equipment (UE). The UE and base station may perform initial access operations at frequencies greater than or equal to 57 GHz without the use of transmit power control (TPC) signals. The UE devices and the base station may also perform connected mode operations at these frequencies without the use of TPC signals. The UE may perform power saving operations without the use of TPC signals. The base station may handle communications for multiple UE devices in its cell by partitioning the UE into groups based on the estimated path loss for each UE. The base station may perform TDMA, OFDMA, or a combination of TDMA/OFDMA scheduling for the UE devices. Performing these communications without TPC signaling maximizes the amount of network resources available for other purposes, simplifies communication scheduling, and maximizes the efficiency of the network.

  • Patent number: 12386844
Abstract: The subject technology provides for temporal reasoning. A system can receive contextual information from a plurality of data sources on an electronic device. The system can identify a predetermined pattern that is indicative of a particular activity in the contextual information within a time interval. The system can determine a confidence score for the particular activity based at least in part on one or more confidence values of a corresponding activity signal associated with the time interval. The system can update a graph-based data structure by adding a representation of the particular activity as a node to the graph-based data structure when a confidence score of the particular activity exceeds a confidence threshold. The system also can provide, for display on the electronic device, a user activity interface that provides access to an indexed collection of events organized by activity type by querying the graph-based data structure.

  • Patent number: 12386881
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to synchronized sharing of playlists from a source client device to a listening client device. To facilitate synchronized sharing, a current playlist of one or more tracks of digital content is obtained from the source client device. A current playback location within the currently playing playlist is also obtained from the source client device. A shared queue accessible by the listener client device is generated. Further, a shared queue context for the listener client device is identified based in part upon the current playback location. This enables the listener client device to start playback synchronized with the source client device.

  • Patent number: 12388487
Abstract: Circuits for reflection cancellation in single-ended signaling are disclosed. A transmission circuit includes a control circuit configured to receive a plurality of input signals that include a plurality of symbols having at least one bit and a data driver circuit configured to generate a particular signal on a transmission medium using a particular symbol of the plurality of symbols. The transmission circuit further includes a reflection cancellation circuit configured to, after a generation of the particular signal, generate a reflection cancellation signal on the transmission medium using an inverted value of a different symbol of the plurality of symbols received prior to the particular symbol. A first composite of the particular signal and the cancellation signal is readable at a load as a value of the particular symbol, wherein the load is configured to receive a transmitted signal via the transmission medium.

  • Patent number: 12386491
Abstract: Systems and processes are disclosed for operating a digital assistant in a media environment. In an exemplary embodiment, a user can interact with a digital assistant of a media device while content is displayed by the media device. In one approach, a plurality of exemplary natural language requests can be displayed in response to detecting a user input of a first input type. The plurality of exemplary natural language requests can be contextually-related to the displayed content. In another approach, a user request can be received in response to detecting a user input of a second input type. A task that at least partially satisfies the user request can be performed. The performed task can depend on the nature of the user request and the content being displayed by the media device. In particular, the user request can be satisfied while reducing disruption to user consumption of media content.

  • Patent number: 12387652
Abstract: A control circuit adjusts a value of a source supply voltage VSSEL provided to a display area in an electronic display. The control circuit also adjusts a voltage Vreset applied to the display area to cause the display area to emit light more uniformly under various ambient conditions (e.g., temperature) surrounding the display area. Dynamically changing Vreset is employed to make anode charging dynamics independent of temperature. The control circuit adjusts the source supply voltage VSSEL and the voltage Vreset together to compensate display pixel hysteresis effects and display artifacts caused by temperature changes and brightness changes of the display area and collectively produce images. Dynamically tuning the Vreset and the VSSEL voltages also saves power and improves gray level accuracy for the electronic display.

  • Patent number: 12388507
Abstract: The present disclosure provides apparatuses, systems, methods, and machine readable storage medium for physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission between a user equipment (UE) and a base station, based on a robust codebook. In an embodiment, a UE, including circuitry operable to: report a UE capability of the UE to a base station, wherein the UE capability comprises a number of phase tracking reference signal (PT-RS) antenna ports (NPT-RS) supported by the UE; decode control signaling received from the base station, wherein the control signaling comprises at least one parameter to indicate a precoder selected from a codebook based on at least the NPT-RS; and perform physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission according to the indicated precoder; wherein the codebook is predefined or configured based on different numbers of PT-RS antenna ports and different waveforms, in the UE and the base station.

  • Patent number: 12386045
Abstract: A range sensing apparatus includes a modulator that applies a frequency chirp to a light source, causing a nonlinear variation in a frequency of an outgoing beam towards a target. A detector receives both a portion of the outgoing beam and a reflection of the outgoing beam from the target. A processor, which linearizes the frequency chirp, extracts characteristic signals with and without linearization of the chirps to identify a range and velocity of the target.

  • Patent number: 12387669
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein may utilize a non-linear scaling relationship to scale brightness of selective portions of the display in a manner that reduces or eliminates perceivable banding effects. By non-linearly controlling changes in brightness of the display, a viewer may perceive a more uniform, linear dimming towards the relatively dimmer region without perceiving banding, leading to improved user experience when viewing the electronic display.

  • Patent number: 12388455
Abstract: A piecewise linear current-mode digital-to-analog converter circuit approximates an exponential output current over a range of input codes by generating linearly varying currents with different slopes of different ranges of the input codes. The piecewise linear current-mode digital-to-analog converter circuit includes a current generator circuit that generates the output current based on a reference voltage and a feedback signal. A variable resistance circuit is used to generate the feedback signal using the output current. Respective values of the reference voltage and the variable resistance circuit vary as a function of the input code.

  • Patent number: 12387415
Abstract: A system compresses and decompresses attribute information for visual volumetric content, such as a mesh representation. Attribute values are included in the visual volumetric representation, wherein at least some of the attribute values include unitary vectors, such as surface normal vectors or surface tangent vectors having a magnitude of one unit. In order to compress the attribute information the three-dimensional unit vectors are mapped into two dimensional parametric coordinates for a planar representation of a unit sphere. To reduce negative effects on compression due to distortion or discontinuities in the planar representation, mappings for compressing respective unit vectors are adaptively selected.
