  • Patent number: 11281875
Abstract: A system includes a first computing device having a first non-transitory machine-readable storage medium, first communication circuitry, and at least one first processor in communication with the first non-transitory machine-readable storage medium and the first communication circuitry. The at least one first processor is configured to execute instructions stored in the first non-transitory machine-readable storage medium to cause the first communication circuitry to receive a first signal from a first transmission medium, calculate a first authentication value for an object based on data included in the first signal, and cause the first communication circuitry to transmit a second signal to the first transmission medium. The second signal identifies whether the object is authentic based, at least in part, on the first authentication value.

  • Patent number: 11253239
Abstract: A tissue containment device (10) for isolating tissue from surrounding tissue during a surgical procedure to remove the tissue includes a bag (12) formed by one or more walls (14) defining a containment compartment (16) and an opening (18) for accessing the containment compartment. Each wall (14) is formed from at least two layers including an inner layer (20) facing the containment compartment and an outer layer (22) facing outwards from bag (12). The layers define between them one or more inflatable volumes (24). Layers (20) and (22) are interconnected at spaced-apart connection regions (28) that are arranged such that, when a fluid is introduced into the inflatable volumes (24), regions of the at least two layers between the connection regions form wall cavity regions surrounding an internal volume of the containment compartment.

  • Patent number: 11141110
Abstract: A body movement detection sensor includes a sensor section having a piezoelectric film, a right belt member, a left belt member, and an engagement member configured to engage the right and left belt members. In the body movement detection sensor, the piezoelectric film exhibits piezoelectric effect in a length direction, the right belt member and the left belt member have substantially no elasticity, the body movement detection sensor further includes an elastic sheet directly or indirectly connected to the right belt member and the left belt member, the piezoelectric film and the elastic sheet are arranged substantially without irregularities when viewed from a side, and the elastic sheet has a maximum amount of expansion larger than an amount of change of a thorax during breathing and has a length equal to or smaller than one-sixth of a total length of the right belt member and the left belt member.

  • Patent number: 10997263
Abstract: Disclosed embodiments relate to systems and methods for reducing lag time for progressive consumption of data content. Techniques include receiving an indication of requested data, the indication comprising: a data chunk size, and a number of data chunks, accessing a data cache, and performing a fetching operation comprising at least one of: if the data cache is empty, obtaining a first portion of the requested data from a database, or if the data cache is not empty, determining whether at least the first portion of the requested data is available in the data cache. Further techniques include providing for consumption the first portion of the data, identifying that a threshold has been reached, receiving updated values for the data chunk size and the number of data chunks, performing the fetching operation again based on the updated values, and providing for consumption a second portion of the requested data.
