  • Patent number: 3995654
Abstract: A universal logic body block includes a number of identical cavities having accompanying passageways of identical number and pattern. Each single cavity forms the basic housing for installation of various valve components which may perform a desired logic function AND, MEM, DIF, OR, NOT or TIM. A primary universal insert fitted within an above-described cavity of the universal logic body block in combinaton with various other valve elements will provide an AND, MEMORY, DIFFERENTIATOR or NOT logic function. A universal valve member may be fitted within a cavity in a first manner in combination with other components, to provide the logic functions, NOT and DIFF. The universal valve member may be fitted within a cavity in a second manner in combination with other components to provide the logic functions AND and MEMORY.

  • Patent number: 3990266
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an ear clip for earrings and the like in which separate jaw portions thereof are attached together for pivotal movement towards and away from each other in such a manner that the need for a separate spring member is eliminated and a soft and durable spring action between opposed ear lobe contacting pads is produced. The construction includes a stationary body portion having a lobe contacting pad at one end and a movable clip arm pivotally attached to the other end, said clip arm having integral spring means associated therewith. The spring means is formed by a series of reverse folds producing spring action at a plurality of separate points within the clip and in this manner accomplishes the aforementioned desirable soft touch between the opposed pad sections which contact opposite sides of the ear lobe and serve to suspend the clip therefrom. The clip arm lobe contacting pad may be and is preferably formed integrally with the spring means.

Additional specialized inserts are provided for insertion into a cavity of the universal logic body block in combination with various valve elements to provide the TIM logic function or the OR function. Various logic circuits can be formed in one block by means of connections between separate logic devices.

  • Patent number: 3987644
Abstract: A clip for earrings comprising separate jaw members pivotally attached. One jaw is adapted to display a decoration and is provided with contact means adapted to contact one side of an ear lobe. The other jaw is movable towards and away from the first jaw and is provided with a generally C-shaped terminal loop portion for transverse receipt of a screw member having a contact adapted to contact the other portion of an ear lobe so that the spacing between the contacts may be altered to change the pressure applied to mount the earring. The C-shape of the loop for receiving the screw member enables the use of a shorter movable jaw which in turn enables the presentation of an overall lower profile of the resultant earring. Additionally, two-point contact between the screw member and the loop is provided so as to increase the ease in which such members may be repositioned.

  • Patent number: 3972558
Abstract: The sunroof structure basically comprises a sunroof which is preferably constructed of a plexiglass or acrylic material and a preferably rectangular frame which is suitably supported from the vehicle roof structure and which defines an opening which the sunroof covers. The sunroof is of the pop-out type and a plurality of fasteners secure the sunroof in place to cover the opening. A peripheral gasket, which is preferably attached to the sunroof, provides a seal between the sunroof and the vehicle roof. The sunroof may be either completely removed or can be partially opened by pivoting the sunroof and supporting preferably its back edge by means of a pivotal support arm.

  • Patent number: 3970343
Abstract: The sunroof structure comprises a molded plastic frame preferably having a ribbed cross section for providing rigidity to the frame. The frame is suitably supported from the vehicle roof structure which has an opening aligned with a gasket for forming a peripheral seal between the vehicle metal roof and the sunroof which is preferably constructed of a plexiglass or acrylic material. The sunroof is manually slidable to cover or uncover the opening in the vehicle roof and is locked by means of a toggle arm arrangement when in its closed position. A lifter bar assembly is provided for locking and sealing the sliding sunroof. This assembly preferably pivots at the front end and includes a lifter link for lifting the roof into a tight closed position. When the lifter bar assembly is released, the lifter bar and sunroof disengage from the roof gasket and the sunroof can then be moved rearwardly.

  • Patent number: 3952335
Abstract: A laryngeal prosthesis for a post-laryngectomy patient includes a control valve, a fitting, and a conduit operatively communicating the control valve and fitting. The control valve has a housing defining a chamber therewithin. The housing is provided with a tracheal opening adapted to communicate with the patient's trachea through a tracheal fistula, a diversion opening, and a control opening surrounded by an internal seat. A flapper is arranged within the housing to move toward and away from the seat. The fitting includes an inlet opening and an outlet opening adapted to communicate with the patient's hypopharynx through a hypopharyngeal fistula. The conduit communicates the diversion opening with the fitting inlet opening. The prosthesis enables the patient to inhale, exhale and cough through the control opening, and to speak alaryngeally by selectively diverting exhaled air from the tracheal fistula to the hypopharyngeal fistula.

  • Patent number: RE28817
Abstract: The specification discloses a method of making an aperture-defining frame member, particularly a window-frame, comprising a rigid frame-shaped reinforcement made of e.g. a solid metal section embedded in synthetic resinous material. The method comprises placing the reinforcement in a mould cavity having the shape of the required frame member and locating the reinforcement in the cavity solely by engaging complementary interfitting formations on the reinforcement and on pin-like projections which extend from the cavity walls, e.g., recesses on the reinforcement engaging the ends of the projections. The longitudinal axes of all the projections are parallel to a predetermined plane and the engagement of the end of each projection with the complementary recess of the reinforcement prevents movement of the latter at least in first directions perpendicular to the plane. The projections are located around the reinforcement to prevent movement of the reinforcement in second directions parallel to the plane.
