Abstract: A multi-material molding apparatus and method includes a single mold having, within a mold cavity, one or more movable partitions that segregate at least first and second molding materials. The first molding material is processed to form a first molded portion of the multi-material part. The second molding material is then flowed, through the movable partition, into contact with the first molded portion. That second molding material is then solidified to form a second molded portion of the multi-material part.

Abstract: During operation, a radio node may provide, at a transmit time during a first time interval, a first instance of a keep-alive message to a computer. Then, the radio node may receive, at a receive time prior to a first instance of a transmit expire time, an instance of a keep-alive response from the computer, where the instance of the keep-alive response authorizes the radio node to transmit in a granted portion of the spectrum until a second instance of the transmit expire time has elapsed. Moreover, the radio node may determine, based at least in part on the receive time and the first instance of the transmit expire time, an updated transmit time. Next, the radio node may provide, at the updated transmit time, which is prior to the second instance of the transmit expire time, a second instance of the keep-alive message addressed to the computer.
Abstract: A method for signing data such as software images is provided that uses modules executable by a generic client to sign hashes of the software images rather than the images themselves. The method avoids both the requirement for new or updated client software and the uploading of full software images to the signing system. This approach uses a generic client that requests and downloads processing modules from the signing system to perform the pre-processing operations in signing software images, as well as optionally for post-processing operations.

Abstract: A method, a server, and a non-transitory computer readable medium are disclosed for switching from a radio frequency (RF) signal to an Internet Protocol (IP) connection based on rain fade events. Abstract: In some embodiments, a method receives a first signal that is sent in a first direction in a network. Communications in the network are full duplex communications in a same frequency band. The first signal is amplified in the first direction. The method trains a first echo canceller to cancel a first echo signal from the first signal where the first echo signal is received in a second direction. After training the first echo canceller, the trained first echo canceller is enabled. The method receives a second signal in the second direction that is sent in the second direction in the network. The second signal is amplified in the second direction. The method trains a second echo canceller to cancel a second echo signal received in the first direction from the second signal where the first echo canceller cancels the first echo signal that is received in the second direction.

Abstract: An electronic device in a network capable of enhancing transmission efficiency of other electronic devices in the network is provided. The electronic device includes a network interface, a non-transitory memory having instructions stored thereon, and a hardware processor. The hardware processor is configured to execute the instructions to request transmission of data from another electronic device in the wireless network. Moreover, the hardware processor is configured to execute the instructions to receive, using the network interface, the data from the other electronic device using a first protocol, and determine a condition of a transmission delay of the data. In response to determining the condition of the transmission delay, an instruction is transmitted to the other electronic device to retransmit the data using a second protocol. The data is received from the other electronic device using the second protocol.
Abstract: An adaptive bit rate system uses adaptive streaming to deliver content to client devices capable of adaptive bit rate streaming. Techniques for advertisement management include monitoring ad skipping by an adaptive bit rate client device that receives media chunks from the adaptive bit rate system. Techniques include monitoring a client action or inaction as it relates to advertisement skipping for future advertisement selections.
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media can be operable to facilitate dynamic port forwarding. A CPE device may be configured to dynamically modify one or more port forwarding rules based upon a detection of changes at the CPE device, one or more client devices, and/or a local network that is supported by the CPE device. In response to a steering of a client device to a network extender, the CPE device may amend port forwarding rules to forward traffic from the CPE device to the network extender for delivery to the client device. In response to a detection of a low quality parameter value for a first client device, the CPE device may amend port forwarding rules to forward traffic associated with the first client device to a second client device, wherein the second client device is identified as a device supporting interchangeable services with the first client device.
Abstract: A wireless gateway for steering a client device between content streaming apparatuses in a wireless local area network (WLAN). The gateway provides an access point (GW AP) including a gateway steering controller configured to determine whether a client device should be steered to a content streaming apparatus based on at least one sample measurement on received signal strength between the client device and the content streaming apparatus and at least one other content streaming apparatus, and conduct steering logic calculations. The steering logic calculations are compared against predetermined thresholds, and said gateway steering controller provides an instruction to steer the client device to one of the content streaming apparatuses based on a difference between the steering logic calculations and the predetermined thresholds. Optionally, the gateway steering controller may also provide band steering as well as signal strength steering.

Abstract: A multi-modal portal system provides an authorization prior to establishing a visual interface connection between a support user or caller and a client user or receiving party. Once the caller is authorized, the caller is permitted to drop-in such that a visual interface connection is established with the receiving party. The authorization can be based on a profile configuration that indicates whether the caller has the credentials required for the visual interface. The authorization can require that a notification be sent to a trusted user or primary contact or the caller can be associated with a profile configuration that allows for a pre-authorization without requiring the notification. By providing such an authorization, a secure and private visual interface with the client user can be accomplished without requiring an express action or consent by the client user.

The processor implements at least one classifier to provide classification for tunneled IPinIP traffic based on classification parameters provided by Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) classification encoding, Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4) classification encoding, and Transport Control Protocol/User Datagram Protocol (TCP/UDP) classification encodings, wherein one of the IPv6 classification encoding and the IPv4 classification encoding is provided by extension information to provide extended classification capabilities. The processor uses the at least one classifier to compare the classification parameters provided by the IPv6 classification encoding, the IPv4 classification encoding, and the TCP/UDP classification encodings to fields in an IPv6 header, an IPv4 header, and a TCP/UDP header of the IPinIP packet. Based on the comparison, the processor maps the IPinIP packet to a service flow identified by the classification parameters.
Abstract: A system and method for generating an audio prompt in response to the actuation of a button on a remote-control button. This audio prompt provides aural feedback to a user that may impaired from discerning the functionality of buttons upon a remote control. This impairment may be environmental (poor lighting) or a consequence of the physical condition of the user (poor eyesight). A particular embodiment of the system and method enables audio feedback to be generated prior to the execution of any command associated with an actuated button, thereby permitting a user to take corrective action if the button was actuated inadvertently.
