Abstract: Suture constructs and methods for soft tissue to bone repairs. The suture construct is a soft, suture-based anchor which is self-cinching and has a specific, accordian-type configuration (i.e., with the ability to fold from a first, extended position to a second, folded or compressed position). The suture-based anchor may be formed essentially of a flexible material such as a high strength surgical suture, suture chain, or suture.

Abstract: A component of an artificial joint according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, inter alia, a hollow tube including bone ingrowth material. Further, the hollow tube is selectively expandable. The bone ingrowth material allows the component to become biologically fixed to adjacent bone. Further, expansion of the hollow tube increases friction between the hollow tube and the adjacent bone, which increases stability.

Abstract: A guide apparatus for a surgical cutting tool includes a plurality of plates arranged in parallel with a guide plane. The plates form opposing bearing surfaces spaced apart over a clearance distance that defines an opening. A sheath includes a cylindrical portion that extends along a longitudinal axis and forms an interior passage extending through cylindrical portion along the longitudinal axis. The cylindrical portion of the sheath slidably engages the opening through the clearance distance, and the interior passage of the sheath receives a rotary cutting head of the surgical cutting tool in an operating configuration.

Abstract: An adapter apparatus for a cable saw or similar cutting implement includes a hub adapter that may detachably engage a mounting hub of a power tool. A pair of lateral arms extend outward on opposing sides of the hub adapter to a connection interface of the cable saw. The connection interface engages opposing wire ends of the cable saw and provides for a cutting operation in response to an oscillating motion of the power tool.
Abstract: An endoscopic camera device having an optical assembly; a first image sensor in optical communication with the optical assembly, the first image sensor receiving a first exposure and transmitting a first low dynamic range image; a second image sensor in optical communication with the optical assembly, the second image sensor receiving a second exposure and transmitting a second low dynamic range image, the second exposure being higher than the first exposure; and a processor for receiving the first low dynamic range image and the second low dynamic range image; wherein the processor is configured to combine the first low dynamic range image and the second dynamic range image into a high dynamic range image using a luminosity value derived as a preselected percentage of a cumulative luminosity distribution of at least one of the first low dynamic range image and the second low dynamic range image.
Abstract: Surgical constructs, assemblies and methods of tissue fixation are disclosed. A surgical construct includes a spreadable web attached to a plurality of peripheral strands. The spreadable web may be tensionable and may include one or more flexible filaments or strands. At least one of the filaments is coupled to the peripheral strands. The filaments may extend from the peripheral strands in different directions and/or orientations. The spreadable web is expandable and can be adjusted to various widths. The spreadable web may be knotless. The spreadable web may be tensionable. The surgical construct may be attached to one or more knotted or knotless fixation devices.
Abstract: A method of tissue repair using a surgical assembly that includes the steps of assembling an implant and a driver, capturing tissue with the implant, installing the implant with the captured tissue in a socket or tunnel, advancing a tapered section of a set screw in the implant, thereby expanding the implant and fixing the implant with the captured tissue in the socket or tunnel, and releasing the driver from engagement with the set screw as the distal end of the set screw reaches the implant's closed end. A surgical assembly that includes an expandable implant having a hole with an entrance at a rear end of the implant and a closed end; a set screw, an implant insertion section, a driver engagement section, and a tapered section, where the implant insertion section is received in the hole of the implant, and a driver that is engaged with the set screw.

Abstract: A swivel suture anchor for knotless fixation of tissue. The suture anchor includes an anchor tip configured to capture suture, the anchor tip being rotatably received within a fixation device upon advancement of the fixation device over a shaft of the anchor tip. The anchor tip is configured to receive a suture to be anchor in bone without requiring suture knots. The anchor tip can be a conical metal tip which is self-punching and avoids the need for pre-drilling a hole in bone. The anchor tip includes a closed aperture to allow free sliding of a suture strand. The suture is secured in a hole in bone by inserting the anchor tip into bone, and advancing a fenestrated fixation device, such as a cannulated interference screw, over a shaft of the anchor tip.

Abstract: An electrode assembly for an electrosurgical ablator may include an insulator having a distal end portion and a proximal end portion. The insulator may include a rim forming a distal extent of the distal end portion and an aperture disposed in the distal end portion. An electrode is disposed in the aperture and forms a cavity having a profile shape recessed from the distal end portion toward the proximal end portion. The electrode assembly projects a focal point of an ablation region emitted from the supply electrode through the projecting rim to a projection distance beyond the distal extent.
