  • Publication number: 20150175031
Abstract: A hoverboard is described. The hoverboard includes four hover engines each including a motor. The motor rotates an arrangement of magnets to induce eddy currents and generate magnetic lift which causes the hoverboard to hover in the air. The hoverboard can be tilted to propel it in a particular direction. The hover engines can each be coupled to a tilt mechanism which is coupled to a flexible rider platform. When rider platform is flexed via rider induced forces, the hover engines can be tilted individually to provide translational forces.

  • Publication number: 20140311060
Abstract: A three part foundation system for supporting a building is described. Three part foundation systems can include a containment vessel, which constrains a buffer medium to an area above the containment vessel, and a construction platform. A building can be built on the construction platform. In a particular embodiment, during operation, the construction platform and structures built on the construction platform can float on the buffer medium. In an earthquake, a construction platform floating on a buffer medium may experience greatly reduced shear forces. In a flood, a construction platform floating on a buffer medium can be configured to rise as water levels rise to limit flood damage.

  • Publication number: 20140265690
Abstract: A magnetic lifting device is described. The magnetic lifting device can be configured to generate magnetic lift using a moving magnetic field to generate an eddy current effect in conductive substrate beneath the device. In one embodiment, the moving magnetic field can be generated by a rotor with arrangement of permanent magnets which is driven by a motor. In operation, the rotor can be spun up from rest to above a threshold velocity, which causes the magnetic lifting device to rise up from the conductive substrate, hover in place in free flight and move from location to location. In free flight, the magnetic lifting device can be configured to carry a payload, such as a person.

  • Publication number: 20120319398
Abstract: A quick-connect coupling for connecting an exchangeable head to a pressing device has balls K1 with a diameter D1, which are radially movably disposed in a ball-holding part on the pressing device. Balls K1 being held radially fixed in a groove on the head with a depth N1 by a locking ring in the connected state. The head has a further peripheral groove with a depth N2. The further groove is designed to hold part of further balls K2 with a diameter D2, wherein the balls K2 are likewise disposed in a radially movable manner in the ball-holding part and wherein the diameter D2 is greater than the diameter D1. The diameter D1 is the same or smaller than the difference between the diameter D2 and the groove depth N2.

  • Patent number: 8316685
Abstract: A pressing tool having a drive unit, a piston-cylinder unit with a fork-like receiver and an actual clamping pincer. The clamping pincer has a T-shaped mounting which, with a retaining bolt and a retaining bolt receiver, is connected to a fork-like receiver. In the fork-like receiver, a roller holder with two rollers is located. The fork-like receiver is part of the piston-cylinder unit. On actuation of the pressing tool, the piston-cylinder unit is pulled back and thus the roller holder with the rollers is moved forward relative thereto in an axial direction towards the clamping pincer. Thus, the rollers roll on roll flanks of the clamping jaws of the clamping pincer. The clamping pincer is pressed together by the rollers pressing apart the clamping jaws at the rear. Thus, the rollers are supported on a bearing block with sliding bearing surfaces.

  • Publication number: 20120157878
Abstract: A device is described that allows women to collect and preserve cervical cell samples to be later tested in a clinical analysis laboratory. It includes a cylindrical body, housing a shaft that axially pushes and retracts a cell collector. The penetration necessary for the insertion device is self-induced by the woman, and therefore has morphological characteristics that are adaptable to the anatomical shape of the vagina. The shaft slides inside the device to position the cell collector on the surface of the cervix. Once the sample is taken, the shaft is retracted, and the cell collector collapses as a consequence of the sliding inside the device, and positioning itself inside the handle, which may contain a liquid medium for cellular containment.

  • Patent number: 8151703
Abstract: A pump receiver housing of a hydraulically operated pressing apparatus designed in a compact and lightweight manner and that connects a drive unit to a piston cylinder unit and to a press unit. A piston pump assembly is connected to a pump flange pressed directly onto a connection cylinder of the piston-cylinder unit. The connection cylinder projects through a pump lead-through in the housing wall into the pump receiver housing, and directly contacts on the pump piston. Thus, the pump receiver housing is designed without conduits, so that an inside of the pump receiver housing is free of or has no high pressure.

  • Patent number: 7861798
Abstract: A hammer device in the form of a needle gun. The gun includes a cylinder housing containing a cylinder, in which a flying piston is displaced and an anvil, against which the piston strikes. A needle carrier is located on the anvil, and the needles of the gun are held in the carrier so that the needles can be longitudinally displaced. To reduce the wear on the needle carrier and to preserve the needle heads of the needles, the needle carrier is configured from several layers, at least in the vicinity of the guide plate. The layers are of alternating hard and soft material.
