Publication number: 20020017891Abstract: The energization control system for a motor equalizes the power loss of switching elements energizing coils of each phase of the motor in order to maintain a balance of heat development. The energization control system for a motor includes a plurality of phase coils and two switching elements. The energization control system of a motor supplies an electric current from the power source line to the coil when two switching elements are simultaneously conducted. Two switching elements are controlled under a first condition that one of the switching elements is switched every predetermined time while the other of the switching elements is conducted. Two switching elements are also controlled under a second condition that the other of the switching elements is switched every predetermined time while one of the switching elements is conducted. The first condition and the second conditions are repeated and synchronized to the predetermined time every predetermined period.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 15, 2001Publication date: February 14, 2002Applicant: ASAHI SEIKO KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventors: Chiaki Honma, Masanori Sugiyama

Patent number: 5871075Abstract: A low-cost, high-performance coin sorting machine is provided by providing a plurality of coils which sense coins concurrently and using a simple oscillation circuit to provide oscillation signals at different frequencies, thereby reducing the size of the coin sorting machine. Right and left pairs of sensor coils are composed of inner and outer coils. When either of the connections between one inner coil and other inner coil, and between one outer coil and the other outer coil, is made in a cumulative mode, the other connection is made in a differential mode. The relationship between the oscillation frequencies is set so that one of the frequencies is greater than twice the other.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 1996Date of Patent: February 16, 1999Assignee: Asahi Seiko Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Shigeki Takayama, Hiroshi Ohtomo

Patent number: 5607352Abstract: A coin dispensing apparatus able to dispense coins until and including the last coin left in the apparatus that satisfies the need for downsizing. The coin dispensing apparatus has a coin dispensing disc in the form of a rotary disc supported for rotation by a drive shaft in opposition to a substrate. A cylindrical case surrounds the coin dispensing disc and an outlet slot is formed in the cylindrical case. Guide apertures are formed circumferentially at equal intervals in a coin transporting disc that guide coins on the substrate. A pushing pin is positioned between the substrate and coin transporting disc for pushing coins towards the cylindrical case as the coin transporting disc is rotated. A guide groove in the disc guides the pushing pin in a direction toward the outlet slot.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 1996Date of Patent: March 4, 1997Assignee: Asahi Seiko Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Kiyoshi Tani

Patent number: 5577591Abstract: A coin selecting apparatus includes a damper ball arranged beside a coin passage to contact inserted coins and a ball guide for smoothly guiding the damper ball, in order to adjust inserting speed of the inserted coins in association with movements of the damper ball. The damper ball travels from a first position to a second position of the ball guide upon impact of the inserted coin to absorb kinetic energy of the coin, thereby regulating the speed of the coin. The damper ball then returns to the first position as rolling and contacting with walls of the guide, thereby changing the location of the impact point on the damper ball so as to prevent the ball from being worn or impaired. Where the first position is placed at a lower position than the second position, the damper ball can return by itself in aid of force of gravity. A pushing member, if provided, may enhance applicability of the coin selecting apparatus since the ball guide could be designed less restrictedly.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 1994Date of Patent: November 26, 1996Assignee: Asahi Seiko Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Hiroshi Abe

Patent number: 5562536Abstract: A coins receiving and dispensing apparatus suitable for food shops or restaurants allows precise transfer and reception of various coins without error and confirmation of the balance of the coin. When coins received from customers are inserted into this apparatus, the coins are immediately sorted by a sorting mechanism with respect to the denominations of the currency and stored at the respective storage portions. When the coins are paid out as change, the coin feeder operates based on a dispensing command signal produced corresponding to the differences between the sold amount inputted in the register and the received amount from the customers to feed the coins of the wanted denomination in the necessary number.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 1995Date of Patent: October 8, 1996Assignee: Asahi Seiko Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Toshio Uchida, Noboru Ichihara

Patent number: 5512016Abstract: A coin delivering apparatus includes a coin escalator having a coin passage where coins advance in a row. A gate is provided at a side wall of the coin passage for opening and closing a portion of the side wall. A coin delivering unit is further provided to deliver the coins toward an inlet of the coin passage in sequence. When the gate is closed, the coins delivered by the coin delivering unit advance into the coin passage via the inlet thereof and are forced out from an outlet of the coin passage. When the gate is opened while no coins are delivered by the coin delivering unit, the coins remaining in the coin passage are transferred by the coin delivering unit to a coin collecting opening to be discharged therethrough.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 1995Date of Patent: April 30, 1996Assignee: Asahi Seiko Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Kiyoshi Tani

Patent number: 5462480Abstract: A coin dispensing apparatus which quickly and reliably collects coins remaining in an escalator 17 has a coin transporting disc 4 which can be rotated in reverse by a motor 5. Coin guide apertures 8 in the disc guide coins A onto a substrate 2. A coin transporting arm 9 is located between the substrate 2 and the disc 4, and rotates in forward and reverse together with the disc. A coin dropping onto the substrate 2 through an aperture 8 slides along a path of rotation on the substrate. During reverse rotation the transporting arm 9 dispenses a coin towards collection outlet 40. Reciprocating guide member 50 is located between the substrate 2 and the disc 4, and is provided between outlet slot 10 and collection outlet 40. This reciprocating guide member 50 makes contact with a dispensed coin to guide it to the collection outlet.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 1994Date of Patent: October 31, 1995Assignee: Asahi Seiko Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Yorio Suzukawa

Patent number: 5441139Abstract: In a coin sorting device which rolls a coin along a sorting passage and which carries out a sorting operation for the coin during movement of the coin, it is readily possible to remove unnecessary material from the sorting passage. The unnecessary material may be surface material which is separated from the coin. If the unnecessary material is left in the sorting passage, it becomes one of factors which cause an error in the sorting operation. Inasmuch as the unnecessary material can be readily removed from the sorting passage, reliability is improved as regards the sorting operation. For removing the unnecessary material, a plurality of through holes may be made to a bottom of the sorting passage. A roller member may be used at the bottom of the sorting passage instead of making the through holes.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 1993Date of Patent: August 15, 1995Assignee: Asahi Seiko Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hiroshi Abe, Yoshinobu Tanaka

Patent number: 5425439Abstract: An escalator avoids jamming by preventing the edges of coins 5 from colliding with a path plate 4 in a curved portion 2 of the escalator, and prevents the deformation of the escalator by increasing the strength of the curved portion. The path plate, at the curved portion of the escalator, has a strengthening recess or trough 6 that extends along the direction in which coins pass, such that the upper ends of coins passing through the curved portion do not collide with the path plate.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 1994Date of Patent: June 20, 1995Assignee: Asahi Seiko Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Tamotsu Tsuchida
