Abstract: The invention relates to components for an improved system for pick-up impression making at a dental implantation site, including an abutment, an abutment replica and an impression coping. The invention also relates to a series of abutments and to a set comprising an abutment and an impression coping. The abutment includes an implant contacting region and a component support region, the component support region has a maximum diameter and extends coronally of the maximum diameter to a coronal end. The component support region also includes a component engagement arranged for releasable engagement with the component by linear displacement of the dental component in relation to the abutment. The component engagement is located at a position closer to the maximum diameter than to the coronal end of the component support region.
Abstract: An implant (1) for insertion into and permanent anchorage in bone tissue having an intraosseous anchoring structure (3). The anchoring structure (3) has a generally circular cross-section and comprises a first cylindrical section (11) of a first diameter, a second cylindrical section (13) of a second diameter less than the first diameter, said first and second cylindrical sections (11, 13) each being provided with a screw thread profile. The anchoring structure (3) also comprises a tapered connecting section (15) provided between an interconnecting said first and second cylindrical sections (11, 13).

Abstract: A blood vessel such as a varicose vein is removed using a semi-rigid rod attached to a flexible thread. The thread is passed through the vein using the rod, which can then be removed. An end of the vein is affixed at a point between the ends of the thread, for example the midpoint. By pulling on the thread, the end of the vein is drawn back into the lumen of the vein, and the vein is progressively turned inside out. A stop can be fixed to the thread slightly beyond the point at which the vein is affixed to the thread, and prevents slipping along the thread. The thread can be at least twice as long as the vein, and alternately pulled in opposite directions.
Abstract: Bone tissue fragments are collected from liquid fluid being evacuated by suction from a surgical operation in bone tissue. Liquid is allowed to pass into the cylindrical sieve through one open end thereof and through the sieve wall from the inside to the outside thereof. Bone tissue fragments are collected on the inside surface of the sieve and are scraped off and deposited outside the sieve.
Abstract: A rotating electric machine comprises a rotor and a stator each having a ferromagnetic core and being separated by a cylindrical air gap. The stator core is provided with three peripheral rings of magnet poles, the poles in each pole ring having alternate opposite polarities and the pole rings having the same number of poles and being spaced axially apart. The rotor core is provided with three peripheral ferromagnetic rings each having peripherally uniformly spaced teeth and spaces therebetween. These toothed rings are located opposite the magnet pole rings and each includes a number of teeth equal to half the number of magnet poles in each magnet pole ring. The mutual angular position between the magnet pole ring and the toothed ring in each associated pair is displaced peripherally in relation to the corresponding position in the other associated pairs by an angle equal to one third of the peripheral extension of a magnet pole pair.
Abstract: A heart assist device for insertion into the thoracic cavity of a patient comprises a double-walled jacket (10) adapted to enclose at least the ventricular portion of the heart (H), at least the inner wall (11) of the jacket being pliable to be able to engage the outer surface of the heart and move together with the walls of the heart, and the interspace (13) between the inner and outer walls of the jacket being closed and filled with a fluid which is easily displaceable within the interspace.
