Abstract: Architectures and techniques are presented that can provide point-to-point analysis to generate an improved signal strength prediction (SSP) based on, e.g., earth surface image data processing and analysis to draw conclusions of line of sight (LOS) along the propagation path between a BTS or another AP transmitter and CPE receiver. For example, USGS image data and/or elevation data of locations are identified to correspond to signal propagation between the transmitter and receiver can be analyzed for LOS signal quality at a fixed location, in addition to the statistical model prediction of the RF signal quality. As a result, foliage or terrain that obstructs the LOS can be identified and utilized to improve SSP by eliminating the additional pathloss due to LOS obstructions. Such can provide a significant improvement to SSP results that are conventionally predicted by statistical models rather than a point-to-point analysis.

Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a processing system that analyses, without user intervention, content of a first message directed from equipment of a sending user to equipment of a receiving user, to identify a task. The processing system determines that the receiving user is unable to perform the task according to biometric data of the receiving user. The biometric data is selected from one of heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and combinations thereof. According to the content of the first message and the biometric data obtained from the receiving user, the processing system determines that the task should be delegated to another user, and responsive thereto, provides a second message associated with the task to equipment of the other user. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, transmitting a first message to a base station, via a network address translation (NAT) gateway. The NAT gateway generates a first entry in a NAT table stored in the NAT gateway in response to receiving the first message. The first entry associates the base station with the network device. Further embodiments can include receiving a second message, via the NAT gateway, from the base station. The NAT gateway receives the second message from the base station. The NAT gateway transmits the second message to the network device based on the first entry. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Example methods and systems are disclosed to provide autonomous vehicle sensor security. An example method may include generating, by a first autonomous vehicle, a first map instance of a physical environment using first environmental information generated by a first sensor of a first autonomous vehicle. A second map instance from at least one of a second autonomous vehicle located in the physical environment is received. The first map instance may be correlated with the second map instance. In response to a discrepancy between the first map instance and the second map instance, a secure sensor may be activated to generate a third map instance. In response to the third map instance verifying that the discrepancy accurately describes the physical environment, the first environmental information including the discrepancy is used to navigate the first autonomous vehicle.
Abstract: A system can facilitate assigning guaranteed bitrate (GBR) admission control thresholds in a network with multiple network slices serving multiple GBR services. Thus, each network slice can optionally have its own dedicated GBR admission. For example, based on a requested service, the system can compare a received quality indicator to a threshold value to determine if a bearer shall be admitted in accordance with dedicated GBR admission control region within its slice. If the slice does not have its own GBR admission control region or if its threshold is reached, the system can compare the received quality indicator to another threshold value to determine if the bearer shall be admitted in accordance with a common GBR admission control region.
Abstract: The present disclosure describes event detection and management for quantum communications in a communication network. The event detection and management for quantum communications in a communication network may be provided based on event-based interaction between quantum nodes of the communication network and a network controller of the communication network, such as where the quantum nodes detect events associated with quantum communications and report the events associated with quantum communications to the network controller and where the network controller receives the events associated with quantum communications from the quantum nodes and initiates event management operations based on the events associated with quantum communications.
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a device including a processing system that evaluates a need for additional data streaming resources at the device, and determines that a set of cooperating devices, located within a predetermined distance, is configured for sharing data streaming resources. The device receives the requested data from the cooperating devices in simultaneous streams, each stream including a segment of the requested data. The data source sends the requested data in parallel streams to the set of cooperating devices respectively, in accordance with addresses provided to the data source for each of the cooperating devices. The processing system assembles the requested data from the simultaneous streams. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Abstract: Intelligent hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback can better support link adaption. Thus, in addition to the traditional HARQ feedback, which is to relay acknowledgement (ACK) and negative acknowledgement (NAK) data based on a decoding result, a new state for the HARQ feedback can be represented as “ACK+”. Consequently, ACK+ can be used to indicate to the network that a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) of a current data packet is too conservative, and the user equipment (UE) is capable of supporting a more aggressive MCS.
Abstract: This disclosure describes a solution to enable more useful and responsive methods for a person's wishes for resuscitation actions to be canceled or discontinued in the event of a medical event. In this solution, a person can record their do not resuscitate (DNR) wishes with more specificity. For instance, they can specify conditions for treatment or non-treatment in the event of a medical emergency that would otherwise call for live-saving procedures or the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) device. Conditional DNR data can be recorded in an electronic device (e.g., emergency pendant or smart watch, or in an electronic device) implanted within or on the person's body. This data can also be stored in a database accessible via a network.
