Abstract: A method and system for automating the creation of customer-centric interfaces includes a customer-centric interface system automatically creating a customer-centric interface, a collection engine, a customer language engine, a task frequency engine, a customer structure engine, and a customer performance engine. The collection engine collects a plurality of customer intention information. The customer language engine utilizes the customer intention information to create customer-centric menu prompts using the customers own terminology and action specific object words. The task frequency engine determines a frequency of occurrence for the tasks for which the customers contact the customer-centric interface and orders the tasks within the customer-centric interface. The customer structure engine determines how the customers relate the tasks together and groups the tasks according to task relationships.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for examining workflow processes is disclosed. An apparatus that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a workflow monitoring system having a definition element that selectively defines one or more workflow process elements of a corresponding workflow, and a monitor element that identifies one or more monitoring parameters for each of the one or more workflow process elements selected, and monitors one or more operational aspects of the one or more workflow process elements according to its corresponding one or more definitions and monitoring parameters. Abstract: A service node is used in the implementation of a call-transfer service in which a service call is transferred to a second agent from a first agent. A code receiver receives from a service control point, via a data link, at least one subscriber-defined call-transfer feature code that can be invoked by the first agent. A call-transferor transfers the service call to the second agent from the first agent in response to the service node receiving a signal from the first agent after the first agent invokes an elective call-transfer function using at least one subscriber-defined call-transfer feature code.

Abstract: A current time and a current Gregorian date are converted into an epoch time stamp. A number of seconds that have elapsed since a predetermined date up until the current year is determined. A number of seconds that have elapsed since the beginning of the current year up until the current month is determined based on whether the current year is a leap year. In addition, a number of seconds that have elapsed since the beginning of the current month up until the current day is calculated, as is a number of seconds that have elapsed during the current day. All of these values are summed to obtain a converted time. Finally, it is determined whether Daylight Savings Time is in effect, and when Daylight Savings Time is not in effect, 3600 seconds are added to the converted time.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a service for providing call reports to a subscriber related to non-answered calls for calls attempted between at least two parties. Using telecommunications switch triggers, call status related to answered, busy, and unanswered calls is collected in a record and used to populate a report. The report is then provided to a report formatter that formats the report so that it is suitable for presentation to a subscriber. The reported call information can be provided to the report formatter in near real time.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a method and system for processing data. In a particular embodiment, the method includes receiving data to be processed from a network communication channel, storing the received data to be processed in memory based files at a computer memory that is local to and directly coupled to a processor via a high-speed memory bus, processing the received and stored data at the processor to produce processed data, compressing the processed data using a data compression software routine resident at the computer memory to produced processed and compressed data, and storing the processed and compressed data at a computer disk storage unit.

An apparatus that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a system having at least one wireless communication access point deployed along a freeway, a database for storing one or more media files associated with one or more advertisements, the database storing information concerning the types of media files supported by a number of media systems of a corresponding number of user vehicles, and a server coupled to the database having access to the at least one wireless communication access point. The server can direct the wireless communication access point to transmit one or more advertisements to the portable communication devices according to one or more types of media files determined to be supported by the media systems, and the corresponding user vehicles being proximately located to a freeway exit. The modem device also includes a memory to store a plurality of transmission line tests. The modem device also includes a controller coupled to the memory and to the transmission line interface. The controller selects one or more tests of the plurality of transmission line tests from the memory. The controller also performs the selected one or more tests on the transmission line and detects an electrical characteristic of the transmission line.

Abstract: A method for updating communications service parameters includes receiving, at a platform configured for speech recognition functionality and corresponding to a communications address associated with verbally updating communications service parameters, a voice instruction from a requester to update a communications service parameter. The voice instruction is translated into digital command data and the digital command data and the update to the communications service parameter are stored in a database. A change in a communications service corresponding to the update to the communications service parameter is implemented in near real-time.
