Abstract: A wheel suspension for a two-track motor vehicle includes a multi-link assembly having control arms that are articulated on a vehicle body and on a wheel carrier, a rotary actuator for an active suspension control system, with a motor-gear-unit constructed to transfer torques as actuating forces to the multi-link assembly via a torsion rod, and at least one reinforcing brace independent of the multi-link assembly and disposed on a side of the vehicle body and extending below the multi-link assembly, as viewed in a vertical direction of the vehicle body. The reinforcing brace delimits downwardly in the vehicle's vertical direction a free space, in which the rotary actuator is at least partially arranged.

Abstract: A method operates a bus system for communication with a plurality of communication nodes, in particular in a land vehicle and/or aircraft. A static, cyclically recurring time window of fixed length each communication node is assigned a time slot for transmission of user information of a byte count that can be specified at least once and fixed during the operation of the bus system. The time window has at least two cohesive sub-time windows. The same byte count is specified for all time slots of a sub-time window.
Abstract: A lighting device for a motor vehicle includes several flat light-conducting elements that are arranged in layers one behind the other in a layer arrangement. The individual light-conducting elements do not touch one another and are clearly spaced apart from one another. Each of the light-conducting elements includes a light-scattering structural element. An illuminating device is optically coupled to each of the light-conducting elements in order to couple light into the light-conducting elements. Light is coupled out of the light-conducting elements by means of the structural elements.

Abstract: In a method for monitoring a functionality of a first and a second component of a motor vehicle the requirements for the monitoring are as follows: for a valid monitoring of the first component a predetermined operating condition of the motor vehicle must exist; for a valid monitoring of the second component the first component must be functioning properly. According to the method according to the invention, upon impending travel, taking into account navigation data of a navigation assistance system, it is determined whether the prescribed operating condition is expected to exist.
Abstract: An electrical seat heater of a vehicle has a heating resistor which is connected to a seat ground cable has a temperature-dependent sensor resistor in the vehicle seat. A control unit is outside the vehicle seat is connected to a control unit ground remotely from the vehicle seat. The voltage measurement for determining the temperature is carried out with the seat heater briefly disconnected from the supply voltage. The heating resistor is connected to the supply voltage via a series circuit including the sensor resistor and a further resistor or to the supply voltage via a power path. The control unit measures the voltage drop at the sensor resistor by a measuring signal cable. The control unit measures the potential difference between the seat ground cable and the control unit ground, which is used to correct the seat temperature.
Abstract: A steering column for a motor vehicle includes a mounting and a carriage received in a guideway of the mounting for movement between a rearward starting position and a forward end position. Arranged between the carriage and the mounting is an actuatable locking device to lock the starting position of the carriage during normal travel and, when being released, to allow a shift of the carriage to the forward end position together with the steering wheel to thereby facilitate entry of the driver. The locking device has at least one predetermined breaking element dimensioned to either break or to become deformed sufficient to release the locking device and to allow the carriage to move from the starting position to the end position, when an impacting predefined crash force is exceeded in the event of a crash.

Abstract: A method for operating an authorization device for keyless entry and starting of a vehicle with a portable ID transmitter that has a motion sensor. A wireless communication link for interchanging data messages can be set up between the authorization device and the ID transmitter. Keyless entry to the vehicle is permissible only when an instant of last movement of the ID transmitter, as captured by the motion sensor, is within a stipulated interval of time. The authorization device permits keyless starting of the vehicle only when keyless entry to the vehicle has previously been permitted.
