Abstract: A medical device packaging assembly includes a cover (10), a medical packaging paper (20), a medical device (50), and an adhesive dressing (30). The cover has a pocket (14) and a perimeter (12) extending from the perimeter of the pocket. The medical packaging paper forms a hermetically tight seal between the medical packaging paper and the perimeter of the cover around the pocket. The medical device is contained in the hermetically sealed pocket along with the adhesive dressing. The adhesive dressing is removably adhered to the medical packaging paper.
Abstract: Catheter assemblies are generally discussed herein with particular discussions extended to catheter assemblies having a tip protector, a valve, a valve opener, and optionally a needle wiper. The valve opener is disposed inside a catheter hub and is configured to be pushed by an IV set luer connector to open a valve following successful catheterization to pass fluids or other solutions through the catheter. A tip protector is incorporated to block the needle tip and prevent the same from accidental needle stick. A wiper is optionally included to wipe blood deposits from the needle when the same is retracted from the catheter.
Abstract: A needle device, such as a catheter assembly, includes a catheter tube attached to a catheter hub, a needle attached to a needle hub, and an optional needle guard for covering the needle tip in a protective position. Different markets can utilize the same needle device by separately forming an extension clip having a gripping member or gripping pad for attaching to the needle device for those markets that require the gripping member or pad.
Abstract: Safety intravenous catheters (IVCs) are disclosed herein having a catheter hub with a catheter tube, a needle with a needle hub, and a needle guard. The needle guard is configured to be positioned at least partially within an interior space of the catheter hub and is retained thereto by mechanical engagement between the two. Following removal of the needle from the catheter hub, the needle guard is configured to disengage from the catheter hub and attach over a tip of the needle to shield the needle tip from inadvertent needlesticks. The needle guard having an angled end section configured with a length and a width to retain the needle tip within a tip holding space behind the angled end section.
Abstract: An adjusting device for adjusting the flow rate of a medicinal fluid-conveying system, said device having a selection wheel for selecting one of a number of possible flow rates, having an adjusting disc connected to said selection wheel for adjusting the selected flow rate, and having a catching nose that cooperates with the outer edge of the adjusting disc, is improved in that the adjusting disc has a star shape.
Abstract: Embodiments of the shield assemblies include a shield that is pivotably secured to a needle hub. A ball-and-socket hinge secures the shield and the hub to one another. The assembly includes a reversible shield lock to hold the shield in the needle-protected position.

Abstract: A closure device for a fluid system for medical purposes is disclosed. The closure device includes a support housing, which has at least one opening to a fluid reservoir or a fluid line, and also with a connection piece, which includes a Luer connecting portion for connecting to a syringe or some other Luer connection part, and with an elastically deformable closure membrane, which closes a fluid passage of the connection piece and opens it when the syringe or other Luer connection part is connected. A nonreturn valve is configured for opening both in the direction of the connection piece and in the direction of the opening to the fluid reservoir or to the fluid line is arranged in the support housing at a distance from the closure membrane in the direction of the fluid. The closure device has applications in several areas, including in infusion systems for medical purposes.
Abstract: A connecting device for a medical infusion system includes a connection piece which has a connecting profile for the connection of a functional part of the infusion system. The connecting device also has a resiliently flexible, cup-like valve body which is arranged in the connection piece and has a valve casing and cap-shaped top region which is provided with a slit arrangement. Further, the connecting device has a dimensionally stable base portion on which a base ring of the valve casing is supported and which is firmly connected to the connection piece. In the unloaded initial state, the valve casing has a convex internal contour which, starting from the cap-shaped top region, first expands in the direction of the base ring and subsequently narrows again, forming an O-like internal longitudinal section. The connecting device can be in the form of a three-way stopcock for an infusion system.

Abstract: The invention relates to a cannula, having an elongated tube, open on both ends, for receiving an elongated element and a movable safety clip enclosing the tube which encloses the tube end when advancing along the tube beyond one of the two ends. The safety clip and the elongated element are designed to attract or repel each other by magnetic force.
Abstract: Embodiments of the shield assemblies include a shield that is pivotably secured to a needle hub. A ball-and-socket hinge secures the shield and the hub to one another. The assembly includes a reversible shield lock to hold the shield in the needle-protected position. The assembly further includes at least one stop piece to stop the shield from over-rotating.
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure include needle devices in which a needle has a notch or slot. A flashback indicator is provided at least in part in the needle lumen at the notch, adjacent the notch, or partially inside and partially outside of the notch. In use, blood flow through the needle lumen is indicated at the flashback indicator. When used with a catheter tube, the flashback indicator can be viewed through the catheter tube. The needle with the notch and flashback indicator may be used with a variety of needle applications, including as catheter assemblies, indwelling assemblies, and most, if not all, over-the-needle type devices.

Abstract: A medical fluid control device for a medical fluid line system includes a fluid flow housing with at least one connection port for connecting to a further functional component of the fluid line system and which has an injection port with an openable closure element, and also having an adjustment member which is mounted movably in the fluid flow housing and which has flow channel sections which, depending on an adjustment position of the adjustment member, can be moved toward the at least one connection port and/or the injection port for a fluid throughflow. Assigned to at least one flow channel section of the adjustment member and/or to the injection port is at least one mechanical flow acceleration mechanism which assists with inside flushing of the injection port during a fluid throughflow.

Abstract: A catheter coupling has a tubing and two jaws extending in the longitudinal direction of the tubing which form a channel having an orifice to accommodate an end section of a catheter when the jaws abut against each other. The jaws are interconnected at a respective jaw end via a jaw joint having a joint axis extending transversely to the tubing. The other jaw end includes a snap-in locking member and a counter snap-in locking member, respectively, interacting therewith to form a snap-in locking arrangement. In the engagement position, the tubing is deformed by at least one jaw deformation component to securely accommodate the catheter. The coupling has at least one inspection window that allows a stop in the tubing for the end section of the catheter to be visually inspected to prevent an end section of the catheter from being introduced into the tubing if it is too short.
