The system further includes a controller coupled to the first transistor and the second transistor, and to control operation of the first transistor and the second transistor to power the excimer bulb.

The control system comprises a backup circuit comprising energy storage means and a discharge gate through which the energy storage means can be selectively discharged to provide a discharge actuation pulse to the valve to cause the valve to move to a safe (e.g. closed) position. The backup circuit further includes an energy harvesting circuit for harvesting power from the power supply lines. The energy harvesting circuit is able to harvest sufficient energy within the duration for a single actuation pulse provided by the motor controller to charge the energy storage means from zero to a sufficient level to allow the backup circuit to generate at least one corresponding discharge actuation pulse for causing the valve to move to the safe position.

    Abstract: In a preferred embodiment, methods and systems for the control of the breathing gas supply from a pressure-leading supply conduit to one or more breathing masks of an oxygen emergency supply device in a passenger aircraft include an on/off valve arranged between the supply conduit and the one or more breathing masks. The valve can be blocked or released to control air supply based upon monitoring mass flow to the breathing masks. The valve, for example, is actuated to an open position until the error between the actual mass flow and a desired mass flow exceeds a maximal error value, whereupon the valve is actuated to a closed position until the error between the actual mass flow and the desired mass flow exceeds a minimal error value whereupon the valve is actuated to the open position and the mass flow monitoring cycle is repeated.

    Abstract: A device for securing passenger seat frame structures (e.g., seat spreaders, legs) to a lateral crossbeam includes a wedged clamping device insertable into a pocket directly adjacent to a passage allowing the crossbeam to pass through the seat frame structure. The wedged clamping device has an upper face providing a locking taper angle and a lower arcuate face opposite the upper face and in contact with the crossbeam. When inserted into the pocket, the wedged clamping device provides a clamping force securing the seat frame structure to the crossbeam without driving a bolt through, deforming, or otherwise compromising the integrity of the crossbeam. The wedged clamping device accepts a tuning bolt through a lateral face; tightening the tuning bolt can more precisely control the amount of clamping force provided on the crossbeam.

    Abstract: A pulse modulated oxygen dispensing and pressurization system provides a variable range of controlled oxygen bolus to an enclosed breathing environment supporting and maintaining required pressure conditions in accordance with desired flow demand. As oxygen is consumed by the user from within the enclosed breathing environment, the exhaled gases and moisture are conditioned or vented to acceptable levels by additional systems associated with the environment. These additional systems cause an ongoing need to replenish the oxygen within the environment and maintain the required partial pressure of oxygen. Specific to one of a plurality of modes of operation, the system responds to changes in regulated output pressure by delivering a precisely metered periodic bolus volume of oxygen to support a requirement of the environment volume. The bolus is variable based on a plurality of factors to increase and decrease changes in rates of flow required to maintain regulated pressure.

The rocking frame may rock back-and-forth in-flight or may be locked at any given position based on passenger preference. The seat construction is compatible with or without other seat adjustment mechanisms such as tracking, swivel, lie-flat and recline adjustment mechanisms.
