Abstract: A method of generating a protected item of software, there being an execution path within code for the protected item of software that causes code for one or more second functions to be executed before executing code for a first function, wherein execution of the code for the one or more second functions causes data to be stored at one or more memory locations, the data satisfying a set of one or more predetermined properties, wherein, in the absence of an attack against the protected item of software when the code for the protected item of software is being executed, the first function is arranged to provide first functionality, the method comprising: configuring the code for the first function so that execution, by one or more processors, of the code for the first function provides the first functionality only if the set of one or more predetermined properties is satisfied by data being stored, when the first function is executed, at the one or more memory locations.

Abstract: An atomizing electronic cigarette has an atomizing core component and a liquid storage component. including an electric heater. The electric heater may have a through hole aligned with a channel passing through the liquid storage component. The cigarette can heat and uniformly vaporize liquid from the liquid storage component, with the user inhaling the vaporized liquid. The vapor generated by the atomizing process may be cooled as it flows through the channel.
Abstract: A rotary device comprises a frame with a guide for flowing medium, a rotor with a number of blades, whereby a relation is obtained between the flowing medium and the rotation of the rotor, and energy converting means, the one part of which is connected to the frame and the other part to the rotor. The device has the feature that the end zones of the blades are connected to a ring, the ring has a radial section with the shape of an isosceles triangle or trapezium, the medium guide has an encircling recess, the form of which corresponds to the form of the ring and the ring fits with clearance into the recess, permanent magnets are added to the truncated conical surfaces, electromagnets debouch on both the corresponding surfaces of the recess, this such that the ring and the frame together form an annular induction motor or an electric generator.
Abstract: A sheet transfer device for transferring a sheet between two sheet processing devices comprising a switch for directing sheets from a first transport path coming from the first sheet processing device onto a two-way transport path or for directing sheets from the two-way transport path onto a second transport path for feeding sheets to the second sheet processing device. A transport pinch is provided along the two way transport path for reversing a sheet on the two-way transport path. When in use, the two-way transport path extends downward in a vertically extending free-hanging chamber wherein the sheet engaged by the transport pinch is allowed to hang freely under the influence of gravity. Thereby, a compact device is formed which is able to adjust the sheet to a suitable orientation for the second processing device. The device further prevents forces from the first processing device to disrupt the sheet's orientation in the second processing device.

Abstract: A method of forming a thermally stable organosilicon polymer includes: (i) depositing an organosilicon polymer whose backbone is composed of silicon atoms on a substrate using a silicon-containing precursor in a reaction space; and (ii) exposing the organosilicon polymer deposited in step (i) to a hydrogen plasma in the absence of the precursor in the reaction space in a manner increasing Si—H bonds and decreasing C—H bonds in the organosilicon polymer without depositing an organosilicon polymer.
Abstract: Disclosed are catalysts capable of catalyzing the dry reforming of methane. The catalysts have a core-shell structure with the shell surrounding the core. The shell has a redox-metal oxide phase that includes a metal dopant incorporated into the lattice framework of the redox-metal oxide phase. An active metal(s) is deposited on the surface of the shell.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition comprising a heterophasic propylene copolymer and an ethylene polymer wherein the ethylene polymer has a density as measured according to ISO 1183-1 (2012), method A of ?940 kg/m3, the ethylene polymer has a multimodal molecular weight distribution and the ethylene polymer has a strain hardening modulus of ?5.0 MPa, the strain hardening modulus being measured according to ISO DIS 18488 (2014) using test specimens of 0.30 mm thickness. Such composition has a low surface gloss, while at least one of impact strength, scratch resistance and/or flexural modulus is improved. Such composition may for example be used in automotive interior parts.

Abstract: A wireless remote sensor (110) that is powered by an inductive transmitter (112) and is configured to produce an oscillating wave that varies based on one or more sensed parameters. The oscillating wave is communicated to the inductive transmitter (112) by reflected impedance, where it can be detected to determine the sensed value(s). In another aspect, the present invention provides a wireless remote sensor with a Wheatstone bridge arrangement having an internal resonant circuit to produce an electromagnetic field indicative of the sensed value. In a third aspect, the present invention provides a wireless remote sensor with optical feedback from a reference circuit and a sensor circuit. In a fourth aspect, the present invention provides a wireless remote temperature sensor having coils printed on a material with a high coefficient of thermal expansion so that the size and/or shape of the coils varies as the temperature increases or decreases.

Abstract: Metallic layers can be selectively deposited on one surface of a substrate relative to a second surface of the substrate. In some embodiments, the metallic layers are selectively deposited on a first metallic surface relative to a second surface comprising silicon. In some embodiments the reaction chamber in which the selective deposition occurs may optionally be passivated prior to carrying out the selective deposition process. In some embodiments selectivity of above about 50% or even about 90% is achieved.

Abstract: An overlay metrology target (600, 900, 1000) contains a plurality of overlay gratings (932-935) formed by lithography. First diffraction signals (740(1)) are obtained from the target, and first asymmetry values (As) for the target structures are derived. Second diffraction signals (740(2)) are obtained from the target, and second asymmetry values (As?) are derived. The first and second diffraction signals are obtained using different capture conditions and/or different designs of target structures and/or bias values. The first asymmetry signals and the second asymmetry signals are used to solve equations and obtain a measurement of overlay error. The calculation of overlay error makes no assumption whether asymmetry in a given target structure results from overlay in the first direction, in a second direction or in both directions. With a suitable bias scheme the method allows overlay and other asymmetry-related properties to be measured accurately, even in the presence of two-dimensional overlay structure.
