Abstract: A process for the manufacture of thermoplastic polymer particles, including combining a first solution including a thermoplastic polymer and an organic solvent with a second solution including an aqueous solvent and a surfactant to provide an emulsion. The emulsion is transferred into a receiving water to remove the organic solvent and form an aqueous dispersion including a plurality of thermoplastic polymer particles dispersed in the aqueous solvent. The thermoplastic polymer particles having a D50 of 20 to 100 ?m are recovered in a yield of greater than 85%. Thermoplastic polymer particles prepared according to the method are also disclosed.

Abstract: A method of forming spacers for spacer-defined multiple pattering (SDMP), includes: depositing a pattern transfer film by PEALD on the entire patterned surface of a template using halogenated silane as a precursor and nitrogen as a reactant at a temperature of 200° C. or less, which pattern transfer film is a silicon nitride film; dry-etching the template using a fluorocarbon as an etchant, and thereby selectively removing a portion of the pattern transfer film formed on a top of a core material and a horizontal portion of the pattern transfer film while leaving the core material and a vertical portion of the pattern transfer film as a vertical spacer, wherein a top of the vertical spacer is substantially flat; and dry-etching the core material, whereby the template has a surface patterned by the vertical spacer on a underlying layer.

Abstract: A system for cleaning and sterilizing a water flow comprises a main treatment line with a pump to pump water from a water storage, a main filter, a sterilizing station and a system outlet. The main filter is provided with a first filter element and a backflush member to rinse the first filter element with backflush water. The secondary treatment line connects to an outlet of the backflush member, and has a backflush filter to remove silt from the backflush water. The main filter is designed such that the pressure difference over the first filter element is at least 0.1 bar (10 kPa) and the backflush filter is designed such that the pressure difference over the backflush filter element is less than 0.05 bar (5 kPa).
Abstract: A process for purifying a by-product stream comprising primarily CO2 that emanates from a an ethylene glycol plant, where the by-product stream may contain organic chlorides and water. The process employs an adsorbent to remove one or more organic chlorides from the by-product stream to produce pure or substantially pure CO2. To improve the efficiency of the organic chloride adsorbent, prior to the organic chloride adsorption process, a moisture adsorbent may be employed to remove at least some of the water from the by-product stream.
Abstract: A lithographic apparatus includes an alignment sensor configured to determine the position of an alignment target having a periodic structure. The alignment sensor includes a demultiplexer to demultiplex a number of intensity channels. The demultiplexer includes a number of stages arranged in series and a number of demultiplexing components, each demultiplexing component operable to divide an input radiation beam into two radiation beam portions. The first stage has a first demultiplexing component that is arranged to receive as an input radiation beam an incident radiation beam. Each successive stage is arranged such that it has twice the number of demultiplexing components as a preceding stage, each demultiplexing component of each stage after the first stage receiving as an input one of the radiation beam portions output from a demultiplexing component of the preceding stage.
