Abstract: An approach is provided for providing alternative route recommendations for a group of nearby users in a privacy preserving manner. A recommendation platform determines at least one group of one or more users within proximity of at least one location-based service, at least one location-based event, or a combination thereof. A recommendation platform processes and/or facilitates a processing of one or more datasets associated with the group to cause, at least in part, a determination of whether to recommend the at least one location-based service, the at least one location-based event, or a combination thereof to the group. A recommendation platform causes, at least in part, a presentation of the at least one location-based service, the at least one location-based event, or a combination thereof to the group, the one or more users, or a combination thereof based, at least in part, on the determination of whether to recommend.

Abstract: An approach is provided for creating an origin-destination matrix from probe trajectory data. The approach includes receiving probe trajectory data, wherein the probe trajectory data is associated with at least one subset of a plurality of travel nodes. The approach further includes processing and/or facilitating a processing of the probe trajectory data to construct one or more microscopic origin-destination matrices, wherein the at least one microscopic origin-destination matrix represents one or more preferred travel paths through the subset of the plurality of travel nodes. The approach also involves causing, at least in part, an aggregation of the one or more microscopic origin-destination matrices to construct at least one aggregated origin-destination matrix to represent the plurality of travel nodes.

The approach involves causing, at least in part, an aggregation of a plurality of curvature samples collected from one or more vehicles traversing one or more travel segments. The approach also involves processing and/or facilitating a processing of the curvature samples to determine at least one experienced curvature for the one or more travel segments. The approach further involves determining at least one geometry-based curvature for the one or more travel segments. The approach also involves determining one or more differences between at least one experienced curvature and the at least one geometry-based curvature.

Abstract: A method for disabling or removing a Legacy loop detect circuit to eliminate the circuit erroneously detecting a legacy loop during a IEEE-1394 serial bus initialization. The method includes providing a programmable code to the Legacy loop detect circuit for increasing a reset count to a value greater than three (3) to the Legacy loop circuit thus reducing the probability of an erroneous disconnect of a Beta node connection. This method provides for more robust Beta loop node operation during high frequency bus resets.

Abstract: A barn door kit includes a plurality of pieces disassembled that are packaged in a much smaller footprint than an assembled barn door. The pieces that make up the door include a plurality of frame pieces and a plurality of panels. The frame pieces are connected together to create a frame of the door having a channel along an interior perimeter. The panels are configured to be inserted within the frame with the channel providing support. The panels include tongues on one side and corresponding grooves on the other side for securing adjacent panels together. The frame pieces and the panels are made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The kit also includes a track, roller brackets, handle and hardware. The hardware includes brackets mounted to upper edges of a right side frame and a left side frame to enable the roller brackets to be secured thereto.

Abstract: Disclosed is method for removing carbonyl sulphide and/or carbon disulphide from a sour gas stream. The method comprises subjecting the gas stream to simultaneous contact with an absorption liquid, such as an aqueous amine solution, and with a catalyst suitable for hydrolyzing carbonyl sulphide and/or carbon disulphide. To this end, the invention also provides a reactor system wherein both an absorption liquid and a catalyst are present. In a preferred embodiment, the catalyst is a heterogeneous catalyst present on or in an absorption column, either coated on the trays of a column with trays, or contained in the packing of a packed column.

Abstract: A heat exchanger includes a lamellar structure of a plurality of parallel heat exchange elements with an intermediate air gap between each pair of adjacent heat exchange elements. Along a longitudinal direction of the lamellar structure the heat exchange elements is interconnected in a top portion of the lamellar structure that forms an inlet channel through the heat exchange elements and in a bottom portion of the lamellar structure that forms an outlet channel through the heat exchange elements. The heat exchange elements form parallel channels between the inlet and the outlet channels. In the outlet channel, the heat exchanger includes a filler body, that is filling up a lower level of the outlet channel and forms a floor along the longitudinal direction of the lamellar structure.
