Abstract: The present invention relates to adjustment of interconnect power levels in high-speed differential serial links. In an example embodiment, a digital signal received at a digital input port is converted in a driver into a corresponding differential signal and provided to output ports connected to a differential transmission line for provision to a receiver. For adjusting the interconnect power levels between the driver and the receiver a voltage regulator is interposed between a voltage source and the driver. The voltage regulator provides regulated supply voltage to the driver. In operation, the voltage regulator receives from control circuitry a control signal indicative of a predetermined regulated voltage for provision to the driver for a pre-selected type of data transmission. In dependence upon the received control signal the voltage regulator selects the corresponding reference voltage and provides it to the driver.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a Lactuca sativa seed designated 41-123 RZ, which exhibits resistance to downy mildew (Bremia lactucae Regel.) races Bi:1 to B1:28, and which has an extraordinary high number of red-colored, oakleaf-shaped leaves of substantially equal size. The present invention also relates to a Lactuca sativa plant produced by growing the 41-123 RZ seed. The invention further relates to methods for producing the lettuce cultivar, represented by lettuce variety 41-123 RZ.

Abstract: A dispensing unit for dispensing a liquid under pressure, the dispensing unit comprising a first coupling means for coupling to a liquid container adapted to store the liquid to be dispensed and a propellant gas at a first pressure and a pressure regulating means for generating said first pressure in the liquid container. Abstract: A heat enabled magnetic media having a composite magnetic recording layer structure that includes first and second magnetic layers and an exchange coupling layer sandwiched between the first and second magnetic layers. The exchange coupling layer has a reduced Curie temperature that allows the magnetic layers to become decoupled a lower temperature. This reduced Curie temperature can be achieved the addition of an alloying element such as Ni or Cu into the exchange coupling layer. Therefore, the exchange coupling layer can be constructed of an alloy such as FePtNi FePtCu, and the magnetic layers can be constructed of a material such as FePt.

Abstract: An encoded information reading (EIR) terminal can comprise a processor, a memory, and at least one EIR device provided by a bar code reading device, an RFID reading device, an NFC reading device, or a magnetic card reading device. The EIR device can be configured to output raw message data containing an encoded message and/or output decoded message data corresponding to an encoded message. Abstract: Described are methods for vaccinating a subject against influenza comprising administering a vaccine multiple times to a subject where the vaccine comprises influenza hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA) proteins from at least a first influenza strain, wherein the HA and NA proteins of the first influenza strain are administered to the subject at least three times within a period of less than one year. Such immunization schemes induce cross-protection against heterologous and heterosubtypic influenza strains.

Abstract: Cost-effective structures and methods that allow an integrated digital-to-analog converter (DAC) to simultaneously achieve wide dynamic ranges and bandwidths through the use of built-in measurement and compensation mechanisms that are primarily digital. The measurements of the DAC's distortions are made with a relatively simple analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that is not designed to accommodate the combination of the bandwidth and the resolution offered by the DAC, but is nonetheless sufficient in determining the characteristics of the DAC's impairments during a calibration procedure. This information is then used in a feed-forward compensation system during the DAC's normal operation to estimate and cancel the distortions in its output signal that could result from the various impairments.

Abstract: A method of polishing workpieces includes final tape polishing (FTP) a media disk by rotating the media disk; applying a liquid that is substantially pure to the media disk adjacent to an FTP tape; applying the FTP tape to the media disk at a pad load to polish the media disk, such that the liquid acts as a transient lubricant between the media disk and the FTP tape; and completing FTP. The FTP process is completely independent of the final disk lubricant, such that the final disk lubricant may be applied before or after FTP.

Abstract: A slit shaped area of a patterning device is illuminated to impart a radiation beam with a pattern in its cross-section. A projection system projects the patterned radiation beam onto a target portion of a substrate. As the radiation beam is scanned across the target portion of the substrate, a configuration of the projection system is adjusted and applies a pattern to the target portion. The adjusting may affect a magnitude of an image magnification component of the projection system, along the length of the slit shaped area, or an image distortion in a scan direction. The adjusting is arranged to compensate an effect on pattern overlay accuracy of a distortion of the patterning device.
