Such a lettuce plant may be obtainable by crossing a lettuce plant with a plant grown from seeds of seedlot 10G.913569 representative seeds of which were deposited with the NCIMB under NCIMB accession number 41763 and selecting preferably in the F2 progeny of the cross for plants being resistant against Nasonovia ribisnigri biotype 1 (Nr:1).

Abstract: Various exemplary embodiments relate to a method of compressing location data. The method may include: receiving original location data; selecting a contextual profile based at least in part on the original location data; selecting a compression method based on the contextual profile; and converting the original location data to a compressed format based on the compression method. Various exemplary embodiments relate to a system for compressing location data. The system may include: a location receiver configured to generate original location data based at least on signals from global navigation satellite system (GNSS) satellites; a location engine configured to select a contextual profile based at least in part on the original location data; and a contextual compression filter configured to generate compressed location data in a compressed format based on the selected contextual profile.

Abstract: Provided is a method for screening a population of plants or plant parts for the presence of individuals showing reduced discolouration compared to a control plant or plant part. The method comprises providing a population of plants or plant parts, optionally creating a wound surface, and incubating the plant, plant parts, or wound surfaces created thereon to allow for discolouration. The discolouration is compared to that of control plants, plant parts, or wound surfaces, and plants or plant parts showing no discolouration or reduced discolouration, compared to control plants or plant parts are identified. Suitably, the discolouration is wound-induced discolouration.

Abstract: The invention relates to an amusement ride vehicle for transporting multiple passengers. The vehicle comprises a movable base (2), a support (3), a lift arm (4) and a carrier (5). The support is mounted on the movable base, the lift arm is pivotably connected to the support at one end and pivotably connected to the carrier at its opposite end. Abstract: A liver sinusoid model includes a generally planar substrate having first and second generally parallel microchannels formed therein. A microporous membrane is disposed between and separating the first and second generally parallel microchannels. A first layer of cells lines one side of the membrane in the first microchannel. The first layer of cells are all a first common cell type. A second layer of cells extends parallel to the first layer of cells in one of the first microchannel and the second microchannel. The second layer of cells is all of a second common cell type. A liver sinusoid bioreactor utilizing the inventive model is also disclosed.

Abstract: Proximity switches include a hermetically sealed unit that can be used in harsh environments and under significant pressures, such as underwater and in nuclear power facilities, without having any parts that would require replacement or periodic maintenance. The proximity switches are preferably switches actuated by physical movement of a contact in response to changing magnetic forces. The switches are preferably disposed in a body tube optionally including a hermetic seal assembly to seal an open end of the body tube and/or a ferrule that prevents electrical wires attached to the switch inside the body tube from being pulled away from the switch.
