Abstract: A ducting assembly, apparatus and method of manufacture is provided. The assembly includes a housing, and a duct inside the housing for channeling outside air from an inlet of the duct to an outlet of the duct to a fan of a micro-chiller unit. The duct is configured with a variable parametric three-dimensional (3D) shape to discretely reverse a flow of the outside air as the outside air is channeled inside the duct. The outside air is received, in a first direction at the inlet of the duct through a first stage of the duct that expands airflow of the outside air inside the duct and then is discretely reversed, in a second direction by the variable parametric 3D shape to flow to the outlet of the duct through a second stage that constricts the airflow of the outside air inside the duct to reduce maldistribution of air.
Abstract: A pipe sealing gasket is shown which is designed to be received within a raceway provided within the female, belled end of a section of plastic pipe which is assembled with a mating male pipe end to form a plastic pipe joint. The gasket is a two-component gasket having a softer, elastomeric portion and a harder, plastic ring portion. A splicing technique is used to form the softer, elastomeric portion with the harder, plastic portion being injection molded over the previously formed elastomeric portion.

Abstract: There is provided herein an aircraft galley container including a door, a latch mechanism, and a lock. The latch mechanism is positionable in a latched position preventing opening of the door and an unlatched position permitting opening of the door. The latch mechanism includes a handle, a pair of rods and a rotatable plate. The rotatable plate is coupled to the handle and configured to be rotated by the handle and to convert rotational movement of the handle to linear movement of the pair of rods to place the latch mechanism in the latched and unlatched positions. The lock is configured to selectively prevent the rotatable plate from rotation to maintain the latch mechanism in the latched position.
Abstract: A roll bond evaporator and micro-chiller unit assembly, apparatus and method is provided. The assembly includes a housing; a compartment disposed in the housing wherein the compartment is formed by at least one side with a roll bond evaporator component using embedded tubes to circulate chilled liquid to chill an interior cavity of the compartment; and a micro-chiller unit configured within the housing to chill the liquid circulated in the roll bond evaporator component across the at least one side of the compartment wherein the roll bond evaporator component intercepts heat seepage into the interior cavity by circulation of chilled liquid to maintain a steady state chilled condition of the interior cavity.
Abstract: This invention discloses a laser assisted cold plasma device for overcoming the antimicrobial resistance and effectively killing the microbes. The microbes are first illuminated with laser light, which inactivates the antioxidant enzyme of the microbes and renders them susceptible to reactive oxygen species (ROS) attack. The microbes are then treated and killed with cold plasma. The synergy between the two treatments improves the effectiveness of microbe eradication by several orders of magnitude.
Abstract: An in-seat mini-bar assembly, apparatus and method of manufacture is provided. The assembly includes a housing that is insertable into a compartment of the seating module and includes a container with an interior cavity that is conductively cooled by thermo-electric elements of a micro-chiller unit mounted on a conductive rear plate that forms an exterior side of the container. A vent is configured proximate to a front section of the housing to receive outside air forward of the housing for channeling the outside air to a rear section of the housing using a duct attached to the vent at the front section. The duct is shaped for a fluidic intake of the outside air by a frontal flange having a wide cross-sectional area that is gradually tapered to a circular cross-sectional area to direct the airflow in a uniform manner.
