Abstract: A dialyzer for an extracorporeal blood treatment includes an elongated, preferably cylindrical dialyzer housing, and at least one dialysis membrane that separates an internal space of the dialyzer housing into a dialysis liquid chamber and a blood chamber. The dialysis liquid chamber has a dialysis liquid supply port and a dialysis liquid discharge port. The blood chamber has a blood supply port and a blood discharge port. The dialyzer includes an additional ventilation outlet for ventilating the blood chamber. The additional ventilation outlet is located with respect to a blood flow direction in the blood discharge port between an exit area of the blood discharge port and the dialysis liquid supply port. A corresponding dialysis device includes a ventilation outlet on a dialyzer housing or on a hose connected to a blood discharge port.

It has been shown to improve the deposition and stability of the piroctone olamine.

Abstract: A handheld titanium hammer including a handle with a transverse hoop at one end, and a hammer head inserted therein. The hoop at the front-facing edge includes a notch. The hammer head includes a flange with a nub and an intermediate portion with a downward facing sloped surface and a recessed bed. A wedge having an upward facing angular surface fits into the hoop from the back end and pushes against the sloped surface of the intermediate portion for a wedging action. The wedging action also lifts the bed into a flattened wall section of the hoop capturing it therein. The nub of the flange is captured within the notch in the hoop. A fastened secures the wedge and hammer head together inside the hoop.

Abstract: An active system and a computer-implemented method for reducing vibrations of seats in a vehicle is described. The system and method adjust a damping and/or a stiffness of a vibration damper based on system input signals from the vehicle or seat system. The signals include one or more of a signal associated with a user weight, a signal associated with time-dependent movement of a vehicle frame, and a signal associated with time-dependent movement of a seat back or a seat pan. The damping or the stiffness are adjusted by a closed loop control.

Abstract: A surgical guidance device is cannulated for passage of a guidewire or pin and includes a hand grip and differential control assembly for driving the guidewire or pin and differentially driving a screw, such as but not limited to a pedicle screw, into bone. The differential control assembly resides in a housing, and includes a differential control assembly for gripping and locking or releasing the guidewire or pin and effecting directional movement (relative to the user holding the surgical guidance device) either distally into the bone or proximally away from bone to thereby drive or retract the guidewire. The method comprises determining a first connection configuration for a first electric vehicle out of the plurality of electric vehicles by determining that the first electric vehicle is connected to a first subset of one or more phases of the polyphase power distribution system and not connected to a second subset of one or more phases of the polyphase power distribution system. Abstract: The present disclosure relates to kits for bone graft delivery, and specifically, for near-simultaneous and integrated delivery of bone graft material during the placement of surgical cages or other medical implants in a patient's spine. The kits include integrated fusion cage and graft delivery devices that deliver and disperse biologic material through a fusion cage to a disc space and, that may, without withdrawal from the surgical site, allow for selectively detaching the fusion cage for deposit to the same disc space. The integrated fusion cage and graft delivery device is formed such that a hollow tube and plunger selectively and controllably place bone graft material and a fusion cage in or adjacent to the bone graft receiving area. Abstract: The invention relates to a system and process for generating digital images of a site having a structure with superimposed intersecting grid lines and annotations. The process includes acquiring a plurality of digital images, still frames and/or video images of the site, the structure, or both, with each of the digital images. The structure, the site, and points of interest within the digital images are identified, and then the system and process photogrammetrically generates a three-dimensional point cloud from the digital images. The identified structures, objects and features are then used to calculate measurements and provide masking and annotations in order to generate the two-dimensional stitched and annotated digital image of the site and/or the structure.
