  • Patent number: 11578928
Abstract: A transducer system includes a housing, an electromechanical transducer within the housing, a wicking material adjacent to a portion of the electromechanical transducer, and a coolant solution within the housing. The coolant solution transitions from a liquid phase to a gaseous phase in response to a temperature of the electromechanical transducer exceeding a threshold temperature. In some example cases, the coolant solution has a boiling point of less than about 60° C., which effectively defines the threshold temperature. The coolant solution may be chosen such that it remains a liquid during a first phase (cooling via conduction), and then evaporates during a second phase (cooling via conduction and convection) as the electromechanical transducer heats up.

  • Patent number: 11574391
Abstract: Local detail enhancement (LDE) is an imagery contrast enhancement method applied to visible and uncooled long wave imagery. It enhances local spatial detail through the use of a median based high/band pass filter. The generated detail channel is blended with a histogram-equalized version of the image, creating an image that contains both local detail as well as retaining some amount of global intensity. Retaining global intensity coherency allows for easier target acquisition when compared to fully local forms of contrast enhancement.

  • Patent number: 11561077
Abstract: Techniques and architecture are disclosed for a system that includes a fuze at a leading end of a projectile body and a fuze setter configured to engage the fuze and to program the same prior to launch. The system, in one example, includes a plurality of electrical contact pads on an exterior surface of a fuze radome housing and a plurality of electrical contact pins on the fuze setter. The electrical contact pads are arranged in a rotationally symmetric pattern that enables an electrical interface to be formed with the electrical contact pins, regardless of the rotational orientation of the fuze. Commutation is performed to rotate signals to the electrical contact pins instead of requiring that the fuze be physically rotated to bring the electrical contact pads into alignment with the electrical contact pins.

  • Patent number: 11555889
Abstract: The present disclosure is a system comprising at least three electronically steered antennas arranged so that there is a baseline difference of a predetermined amount of wavelength between the centers of the antennas, typically configured as an obtuse or scalene triangle, where the distance between each antenna on an array is selected to provide the required accuracy and precision, the array having a timing circuit to ensure that the beam of each antenna is steered to the same azimuthal and elevation coordinates in space simultaneously. This enables the three electronically steered antennas to operate as an interferometer to determine a bearing to a target to ultimately determine the location thereof. The electronically steered antennas enable the system to be mounted on a platform in a small package that was previously difficult for traditional interferometers.

  • Patent number: 11556647
Abstract: A system and method is provided that tests and determines whether candidate artificial intelligence model contains a Trojan from when it was trained and using the outcome determination of the Trojan to determine whether the candidate artificial intelligence model should be deployed. The system utilizes a first artificial intelligence that operates as a data generator and a second artificial intelligence that operates as a discriminator to determine whether the candidate artificial intelligence contains a Trojan. The first artificial intelligence combines sets of data with random Trojan triggers and the second artificial intelligence discriminates output classifications from the candidate artificial intelligence model to determine whether the Trojan is present based on probability outputs.

  • Publication number: 20220414274
Abstract: Techniques are provided for actively controlling a communications bus to mitigate threats, including cyber-attacks. A methodology implementing the techniques according to an embodiment includes detecting a threat in a message that is being transmitted between nodes on the communications bus. The message comprises one or more message frames and the threat detection is based on analysis of an initial portion of the message frame. The method further includes actively controlling the bus, based on the threat detection, to prevent the remaining portion of the message frame from delivering the threat to one or more of the nodes on the bus. Actively controlling the bus includes isolating nodes from the bus and/or overwriting data in the remaining portion of the message frame to invalidate the message frame or to remove the threat from the message frame.
