Abstract: A high voltage switch is provided, comprising a pair of electrodes housed within a high pressure gas vessel and separated by a nominal distance D. At least one of the electrodes is provided with raised surface features each having a radius of curvature that is significantly smaller than the electrode separation D. Preferably one of the electrodes is flat-faced. Preferred gas pressures within the pressure vessel are in the range 300 psi to 1200 psi. When used to switch voltages of several hundred kilovolts, an operational life for the electrodes of between 400 and 1000 hours has been achieved.
Abstract: A dual purpose antenna is provided with the UHF antenna in the form of a pair of copper tubes to provide an off center fed dipole, with a pair of quadrafiler helix L1 and L2 GPS antennas stacked on top of the UHF antenna, and with the top section of the UHF dipole providing a ground plain for the GPS antenna. The antennas are fed internally by two coaxial feeds, one feeding the UHF antenna, the other passing through the UHF antenna to feed the GPS antennas. In one embodiment, a tuning coil is provided at the base of the UHF antenna by the coiling of the two coaxial feeds around a non-conductive mandrel, with copper taping placed on top of the coiled coaxial sections to provide an LC circuit to lower the resonant frequency of the UHF antenna to 225 MHz.

Abstract: A system and method for emulating low frequency RF control bus operation using high frequency data is disclosed. In transmission path, the low frequency RFCB transmit data bytes are encoded and then up-sampled. The up-sampled data is then sent to hardware serializer for transmission. The resulting RF serial output stream appears to the external receiver to be encoded at low frequency even though the transceiver is operating at high frequency. In reception path, RFCB serial input data is de-serialized and then down-sampled. The down sampled data is then passed through custom byte-alignment logic and finally decoded. The transceivers are operated at high frequency but data is decoded and received as if it were at low rate. The FPGA serial transceiver are operated at a high frequency and sends each data bit a plurality of times to create a low effective data rate.

Abstract: A method for fabricating a metal-insulator-metal capacitor (MIMCap) is disclosed. A first metal layer is provided on top of an oxide layer. A nitride layer is then deposited on the first metal layer. The nitride layer and the first metal layer are etched to form a MIMCap metal layer. The gaps among the MIMCap metal layer are filled with a plasma oxide, and the excess plasma oxide is polished using the nitride layer a polish stop. After removing the nitride layer, a dielectric layer and a second metal layer are deposited on the MIMCap metal layer. Finally, the dielectric layer and the second metal layer are etched to form a set of MIMCap structures.

Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for enhancing the visibility of features of an image. The method comprises the steps of acquiring image data corresponding to at least one image feature using sensing means; processing the image data to identify changes in adjacent data points corresponding to a boundary of the at least one image feature; and, generating modified image data corresponding to the processed image data.
Abstract: A system and method for protecting boot and recovery area of a flash memory in order to meet GMR requirements in radio system is disclosed. When the Core Engine Modem is installed in the factory test equipment, LOCK signal on the PoP module is logic high. At this time, the flash will be unlocked, and the boot and recovery code is written. The boot and recovery sectors will then be locked and the user area of the flash is left unlocked. When installed in the GLS DICE-T, LOCK signal on the PoP module is logic low. At this time, the flash device will ignore block lock commands, which prevent the unlocking of the protected sectors. The write enable signal from the GVA can now be utilized to enable writing to the user area of the flash despite of protecting boot and recovery areas.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for forming a digital image are disclosed. The apparatus includes a plurality of pixel sensors and a controller. Each sensor includes a photodiode, a floating diffusion node that can be selectively connected to said photodiode or a reset voltage, and an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) connected to the floating diffusion node, the ADC converting a voltage on the floating diffusion node to a digital value. Each pixel sensor also includes an output circuit that connects the ADC to a bus. The apparatus also includes a controller that causes the ADCs to operate in parallel to convert the voltages on the floating diffusion nodes to the digital values in a time that is less than the time needed for the floating diffusion node to acquire ten electron equivalents of noise. The optional apparatus includes circuitry that allows correlated double sampling to be performed in each sensor.

Abstract: A digital filter correlation engine, wherein the correlation engine combines N arbitrary digital filter states based on the weights and along with a threshold generate a network incident. This network incident in turn can be feedback to another digital filter. This multi-layering capability allows the creation of higher level event detections that are time-based for a cyber security analyst to analyze, thereby reducing the amount of manual work the analyst has to do in inspecting behaviors within the network.

Abstract: A system and method for scanning a wide band beam is presented. An apparatus includes a pair of prism triplets. Each prism triplet includes a first wedge prism, a second wedge prism and a third wedge prism all formed with different optical materials. In operation, a beam passing through the wide band team scanning apparatus first passes through the first, second and third wedge prisms of the first prism triplet. The beam then passes through the wedge prisms of the second prism triplet in a mirrored order (the third, then second, then first wedge prisms) than that of the first prism triplet. This apparatus with two prism triplets allows wide band light transmitted through it to emerge with its plurality of different wavelengths of light travelling in the same direction to equalize net dispersive effects each of different wavelengths.
