Patent number: 11300033Abstract: Systems, devices, methods and programs for reducing emissions from engines are provided. For example, one system for reducing emissions from engines comprises a heating controller coupled to an energy storage device (ESD). The heating controller is configured to control a heating element to heat one or more components of an after-treatment system using energy from the ESD under a first condition and to control the heating element to stop heating the one or more components of the after-treatment system when a second condition is satisfied. Additionally, another system for reducing emissions from engines comprises a controller detecting a decrease in a demanded torque from an engine and an ISG. The controller is then configured to operate a clutch to disengage the engine from the ISG, if after removing fuel from the engine, the sensed speed of the engine is above a threshold.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 2020Date of Patent: April 12, 2022Assignee: BAE Systems Controls Inc.Inventors: Derek M. Patent number: 11303287Abstract: Techniques are provided for phase coherent frequency synthesis. An embodiment includes a first phase accumulator to accumulate a frequency control word (FCW) at a clocked rate to produce a first digital phase signal representing phase data corresponding to phase points on a first sinusoidal waveform. The embodiment also includes a second phase accumulator to produce an incrementing reference count at the clocked rate and multiply it by the FCW to produce a second digital phase signal representing phase data corresponding to phase points on a second sinusoidal waveform. The multiplication is performed in response to change in the FCW. The embodiment further includes a multiplexer to select between the first and second digital phase signals based on completion of the multiplication. The embodiment also includes a phase-to-amplitude converter to generate digital amplitude data corresponding to the phase points on a sinusoidal waveform associated with the selected digital phase signal.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2021Date of Patent: April 12, 2022Assignee: BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration Inc.Inventors: Steven E. Patent number: 11287520Abstract: A system and method for using coherent aggregated bandwidth over multiple transmissions for improved performance of precision guidance and positioning and of object tracking systems. Angular offset (Az/El) estimations are strongly impacted by interference between direct and (comparable amplitude) ground-reflected signals. In rough ground situations, there could be many ground reflected signals. Bandwidth aggregation as used herein achieves sharper range sidelobes and smaller magnitude multipath interference terms resulting in increasingly accurate interferometric results.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 2019Date of Patent: March 29, 2022Assignee: BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration Inc.Inventor: Ira B.
