  • Patent number: 11057067
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for self-interference signal cancellation. A hybrid self-interference cancellation (SIC) circuit is configured to be operatively coupled to a transmitter and a receiver, and includes a tunable time domain filter in series with a tunable frequency domain filter. The tunable time domain filter is configured to generate a time-domain multipath cancellation signal based on a first radio signal transmitted by the transmitter at a first frequency while the receiver is receiving a second radio signal at a second frequency. The first and second frequencies can be the same or different and have similar or different power levels at the antennas. The tunable frequency domain filter, which is in series with the tunable time domain filter, is configured to generate a frequency-domain cancellation signal based on the first radio signal while the receiver is receiving the second radio signal.

  • Patent number: 11057045
Abstract: A direct-digital receiver architecture is configured to make maximal use of the dynamic range of its analog to digital converter (ADC). The receiver includes an analog frontend that applies a variable gain factor to the analog input signal, a gain level unit that determines the variable gain factor by monitoring the digital signal that is output by the ADC, a gain scaling unit that determines a digital scale factor according to the determined gain factor, and a gain factor multiplier that multiplies the digital signal by the scale factor to produce a scaled digital signal, said multiplying being time aligned with the variable gain factor. The receiver further includes a digital signal processing train that is cognisant of the dynamic range of the ADC, variable gain factor and the digital scale factor for the time domain sample being processed.

  • Publication number: 20210199976
Abstract: A combiner assembly for a ceiling mounted projection head up display system for an aircraft cabin has an optical combiner (10), and a support mechanism (30, 32, 35) for supporting the optical combiner to be movable between an operational position and a stowage position, above the user, and laterally displaced, and facing an underside of the projector assembly by means of a lateral component of movement and a rotation component to reach the stowage position under the projector assembly (20). Such a two axis movement can make better use of limited headroom in cabins such as those of small aircraft, by enabling a stowage location offset to one side of the line of sight, while providing sufficient clearance from the user's head and from cabin structure, during the movement and/or when in the storage position.

  • Publication number: 20210197960
Abstract: Methods and systems for operating actuator control electronics are described. In an example, a system can include a first lane and a second lane configured to be in communication with each other. The first lane can receive first data associated with a first pattern and send the first pattern to the second lane. The second lane can receive second data associated with a second pattern and send the second pattern to the first lane. The first and second lanes can each compare the first pattern with the second pattern. Based on the comparison, the first lane can select first input data and the second lane can select second input data. The first lane can generate a first actuator command using the first input data. The second lane can generate a second actuator command using the second input data. The first and second actuator commands can be bit-for-bit identical.

  • Patent number: 11047958
Abstract: The system and method for target identification using a comparatively low resolution imager combined with a 3D LIDAR on-board a round. This system and method are applicable to any round looking for a 3D target ID. A round, as used herein, may be a weapon, a projectile, a ballistic, a bullet, a munition, a guided weapon, or the like. By coupling a fiber laser of a LIDAR with a piezoelectric oscillator, or actuator, to scan a target and an avalanche photodiode (APD) detector array, or other high resolution sensor, target dimensional information can be used to increase the probability of an accurate target ID.

  • Patent number: 11047898
Abstract: A system and associated method determines the characteristics of an electric network including distance to a fault through the use of a power divider and a measuring device that measures a quantity from which voltage magnitude can be determined. The measuring device may be a power detector. The power detector may include a power meter to measure voltage and/or a power sensor to measure amplitude. • Patent number: 11047954
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for determining the presence of pulse jams in an identification friend or foe (IFF) system. In an embodiment, a plurality of jamming pulse rates are determined. Each of the plurality of jamming pulse rates is a count of jamming pulses entering the IFF system during a corresponding integration period. Each of the plurality of jamming pulse rates is a count of jamming pulses associated with non-valid signals entering the IFF system. An average jamming pulse rate is computed based on the plurality of jamming pulse rates. The average jamming pulse rate is then compared against a pulse jam threshold to determine whether a pulse jam is present (or not present) in the IFF system.

  • Patent number: 11049226
Abstract: Local detail enhancement (LDE) is an imagery contrast enhancement method applied to visible and uncooled long wave imagery. It enhances local spatial detail through the use of a median based high/band pass filter. The generated detail channel is blended with a histogram-equalized version of the image, creating an image that contains both local detail as well as retaining some amount of global intensity. Retaining global intensity coherency allows for easier target acquisition when compared to fully local forms of contrast enhancement.

  • Publication number: 20210190746
Abstract: The system and method for a multi-element, ultra-low SWaP chemical concentrator incorporating Applicant's own open cell foamed adsorbent material which allows high volume sampling (e.g., liters per minute) to achieve low detection limits (ppt) using high-volume, low-pressure air sources (i.e. fans or blowers) rather than pumps. The device delivers the sample directly to an analyzer without the need for a typical intermediate cryogenic trapping step.
