Abstract: A system and method for detecting or identifying substances based on spectral response signatures is provided. The system utilizes IR imagery, singularly or stored in a database, in operative communication with a database or library of known spectral response signatures. The system correlates the spectral response signature detected, or inherent, in an image or image library, with the set of known signatures in the spectral database. The system generates a report of the substances or chemical compounds present in at least a portion of the image. The system can also query a database of IR products for an area of interest, and return results in a report or via an interactive tool, for IR products containing specific IR spectral results.

  • Publication number: 20200318967
Abstract: A system for finding up in a projectile flight relative to earth. The system having a transmitter which transmits polarized reference signals to a guidance sub-system on the projectile. The guidance sub-system includes a magnetometer and polarized and non-polarized receivers. Measurements from the magnetometer are used to determine a general up direction. The polarized and non-polarized receivers are arranged such that, during rotation of the projectile, reference signals received by the polarized receiver modulate whereas reference signals received by the non-polarized receivers are unaffected. A ratio of the strengths of the signals received by the polarized and non-polarized receivers determines alignment of a vertical axis. From the general up direction and alignment of the vertical axis, a precise up direction of the projectile in flight relative to the earth can be determined.

  • Patent number: 10797947
Abstract: Method and system for assigning addresses to end point devices in a network includes placing a mobile device in close proximity to a first end point device and establishing a wireless connection, transmitting an auto-addressing command from the mobile device to the end point device in response to the connection being established and disconnecting the connection in response to the end point device being configured with the network address. As the mobile device is moved through the system, when the wireless signal strength between the mobile device and a respective the end point device exceeds a threshold, both devices recognize that they are in close proximity and the mobile device transfers the address configuration information to the end point device. By moving the mobile device through the system the steps are automatically repeated until the mobile device assigns address and location information to each end point device on the network.

  • Patent number: 10794767
Abstract: An object detection system uses a change in a linear polarization statistic between a first image at a first time and a second image at a second time to determine the presence or the likelihood of an object beneath a surface. The presence of the object may be determined by regions of anomalously high changes in the polarization statistic. The system may use a polarization change detection detector which may simultaneously capture images in multiple polarization channels. Further, the polarization change detection detector may be coupled with a laser interferometry system. Further, the polarization change detection detector may be used to capture a time series of images to determine the polarization decorrelation time for each pixel in the field of view to provide additional detail regarding an object detected beneath the surface.

  • Patent number: 10782706
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a spread spectrum landing system with a low probability of intercept altimeter that is in communication with a plurality of asymmetrically placed antennas or transponders near a landing area. The low probability of intercept altimeter acts as a secondary system in the event that a primary landing system for the mobile platform is denied or otherwise inoperable. The low probability of intercept altimeter cycles through unique pseudo noise (PN) codes to determine a line of sight relative to each antenna or transponder. A single algorithm or process determines and ranges the platform relative to the transponders to effectuate the landing of the platform.

  • Patent number: 10782098
Abstract: The system and method of dynamic weapon to target assignment (DWTA) using a control based methodology to dynamically assign each projectile to a target in a multiple target engagement situation. In some cases, closest proximity is used in a real-time, to accomplish the DWTA functional requirement and performance criteria. In some cases, g pulling acceleration and projectile fin deflection motion are also used to assess the best matched pair for each projectile and each target with an end goal of intercepting the target or guiding the projectile to an acceptable error basket for target destruction via detonation. For the closest distance criterion for projectile/target pairing, a cutoff time is used to ensure the pairing is conducted within an acceptable duration while still being able to intercept the target or meet a required miss distance basket (e.g., <3 m).
