Abstract: A helmet mounting for optical combiner (50) for a HMD has a pivoted mounting arm (60) for the optical combiner to be movable between an operational position in a line of sight, and a retracted position displaced out of the line of sight. A translation mechanism (100) provides translation of the optical combiner along the line of sight. A driving lever (30) causes the displacement of the mounting arm between the line of sight and the retracted position, and with a second motion of the lever, causes the translation of the optical combiner. By having the same lever coupled to both the mounting arm and the translation mechanism, the relatively complex combination of displacement and translation movements of the optical combiner can be reduced to a simpler movement, easier for a user such as a pilot to use even when under stress in a busy and cramped cockpit environment.

  • Publication number: 20200292655
Abstract: Techniques are provided for geolocation of a radar emitting source. A methodology implementing the techniques according to an embodiment includes calculating time difference of arrival (TDOAs) of ground emitter radar pulses, within a dwell period, between two long baseline interferometer (LBI) antennas. The TDOA calculations are based on a precision estimate of the time of arrival of the radar pulses. The method further includes calculating an LBI phase wrap disambiguation factor based on (1) the TDOAs, (2) an average of frequencies of the radar pulses within the dwell period, and (3) an average of phase shifts of the radar pulses between the LBI antennas within the dwell period. The method further includes mapping a curve of points onto the surface of the earth based on an LBI cone angle calculation employing the LBI phase wrap disambiguation factor. The curve of points is associated with a geolocation of the ground emitter.

  • Patent number: 10778155
Abstract: A dynamic differential amplifier includes: gain transistors to drive with differential input voltage levels; sample capacitors having first terminals to ramp from an initial voltage level to differential amplified voltage levels of the input voltage levels in response to the driven gain transistors; and adjustment circuits to adjust the amplified voltage levels in the direction of the initial voltage level by an offset voltage level. In some cases, second terminals of the sample capacitors are a common-mode node to maintain a common-mode voltage level midway between the ramping voltage levels of the first terminals. In some cases, the dynamic differential amplifier further includes a comparison circuit to compare the maintained common-mode voltage level to a threshold voltage level, wherein the first terminals of the sample capacitors stop ramping and the adjustment circuits adjust the amplified voltage levels in response to the compared common-mode voltage level reaching the threshold voltage level.
