The pressure pad 10 and the support bar 40 are nipped between and held by the engaged portions.

The air nozzles are received in the partitioned spaces and spaced from each other longitudinally of the dampening water roller to spout compressed air toward the outer surface of the dampening water roller.

Abstract: A method comprises the step of reading multi level data of reference of each of colors from a printed paper on which images are printed to be good. The multi level data of reference are converted into two level data of reference so that two level data of images of reference can be reproduced in a memory from the two level data of reference. The method further comprises the step of reading multi level data of inspection of each of colors from a printed paper which is fed when inspecting. The multi level data of inspection are converted into two level data of inspection so that two level images of inspection can be reproduced in the memory from the two level data of inspection. The method further comprises the step of comparing the two level images of inspection with the two level images of reference for inspection of stained parts and blurred parts.

Abstract: An apparatus is arranged to clean a cylinder with cleaning liquid being supplied. The cylinder includes an outer surface to which impurities are adhered. The impurities are removed from the outer surface when cleaning. The apparatus includes a spray bar into which the cleaning liquid is directed with pressure. The spray bar comprises tube means which includes nozzle holes formed therein for spouting the cleaning liquid. The tube means is formed of elastic material and elastically deformed by the pressure of cleaning liquid to open the nozzle holes and spout the cleaning liquid. The tube means is elastically restored, when the cleaning liquid is not directed with pressure into the spray bar, to close the nozzle holes.

Abstract: Divided shaft members constitute a cleaning fabric take-up shaft, and are secured at both ends by shaft member fixing means that is attached to a side plate. Shaft member fixing portions include a shaft end supporter, for supporting the end of the shaft member, and a plug that is fitted to a shaft receiving section. A wedge portion is provided, which runs across the center of the shaft end supporter and is projected linearly. When this wedge portion is inserted between the shaft members, the diameter of the shaft is increased. At this time, the winding of the cleansing fabric is performed. To dispose of the wound cleaning fabric, the shaft members are detached from the shaft member fixing portions and the wedge is extracted from the shaft members, so that the diameter is reduced, and the cleaning fabric is disengaged from the shaft members. As a result, the cleaning fabric take-up shaft can be removed from the cleaning fabric roll.

Abstract: There is disclosed an optical sensor comprising a holder provided on a circuit board. The holder has first and second cavity means formed therein. The optical sensor further comprises first body means including LEDs combined therewith for directing a light onto an object to illuminate the object with the light and generate a reflected light reflected from the object. The first body means is of a cassette type adapted to be fitted into and held in the first cavity means of the holder for removal. The first body means is electrically connected with the circuit board to complete a first electronic circuit through the LEDs when fitted into the first cavity means. The optical sensor further comprises second body means including photo detecting means combined therewith for receiving and detecting the reflected light reflected from the object. The second body means is of a cassette type adapted to be fitted into and held in the second cavity means of the holder for removal.

The method further comprises the step of programmatically controlling the feeding amount of the dampening water to decrease in accordance with the decrease in speed of the printing press along a second curve which is predetermined to indicate the relation of the feeding amount of dampening water to the speed of printing press, when the printing press is decelerated.
