Abstract: The invention relates to a process for obtaining anhydrous or substantially anhydrous formic acid, in which firstly aqueous formic acid is prepared by hydrolysis of methyl formate and is freed from water in the subsequent work-up. The process has the special feature that steam, which is employed for the hydrolysis of methyl formate and for heating a distillation column serving for work-up, is also used as stripping steam for waste-water stripping. The stripped waste water is produced during work-up.

Abstract: Starting material streams are mixed in a mixer (13) for the phosgenation of amines by a process in which the reaction product (3) is removed in a closed loop and the starting material streams (1.2) contain organic solvents. The main streams (1.1, 2.1) and/or part-streams (1.2, 2.2) of the starting materials (1, 2) come into contact with one another according to the countercurrent principle.
Abstract: The present invention relates to the manufacture of solid materials or shaped bodies containing at least one zeolite and being at least partly crystalline. Furthermore, the present invention relates to the solid materials or shaped bodies as such and to the use of these materials for reactions of compounds having at least one C—C double bond with at least one hydroperoxide. Specifically, the present invention relates to a process for the manufacture of a solid material containing at least one zeolite and being at least partly crystalline, wherein the synthesis of the said solid material involves at least one partial step of contacting at least one transition metal oxide source with at least one epoxide or hydrolysate thereof prior to or during the at least partial crystallization of said solid material.
