Abstract: The present invention is a process for treatment of waste water streams having a sodium sulfate content of above 20 percent. The process is useful for treating waste water generated in the production of polyethyleneimine and cyclohexanone. The process includes the steps of removing sodium sulfate from waste water by the addition of organic solvent. The waste water having reduced sodium sulfate content is then subjected to biological treatment with activated sludge. First the waste water is subjected to pre-treatment. Pre-treated waste water is combined other waste water and treated by denitrification and nitrification.

Abstract: The multipack for pancakes of relatively large diameter comprises two end plates (1, 2) and an intermediate plate (4), anchored on which is a tube (3) on which the pancakes are arranged in series with cushioning disks placed in between. The end plates include fixing means on their narrow sides for stacking a plurality of the multipacks described on top of and next to one another on one and the same pallet. A film of plastic is drawn over each multipack and each multipack is held together by securely lashed straps, which are drawn over the end plates.

Abstract: An apparatus for extruding a wide variety of plural-component and mixed monocomponent fiber configurations in a spin pack utilizes one or more disposable distributor plates in which distribution flow paths are formed on one or both sides to distribute the polymer components to appropriate spinneret inlet hole locations. The distributor plates are inexpensive compared to drilled, milled, reamed, etc., plates and may be very thin, rendering the fabrication expense for the plates small, relative to the remainder of the spin pack, as to justify discarding or disposing of the plates rather than periodically cleaning them. The distribution paths may be small and densely packed, whereby the spinneret orifices can be more densely packed in the spinneret and staggered as between rows and columns so as to increase the fiber yield per given spinneret surface area.

Abstract: Aqueous polymer dispersions are obtainable by polymerizing a monomer mixture which contains from 10 to 100% by weight of halogenated monomers in the presence of from 0.5 to 6% by weight, based on the monomer mixture, of exclusively anionic and/or non-ionic emulsifiers by radical emulsion polymerization in aqueous medium, and adjusting the pH of the aqueous phase of the resulting aqueous polymer dispersion to from 5 to 10 by addition of bases which are different from ammonia and from primary and secondary amines, it being possible for the bases to be added before, during and/or after the emulsion polymerization.
Abstract: This invention, therefore, relates to the field of polyurethane coatings for use in automobile basecoat/clearcoat systems. In particular, this invention relates to the discovery that incorporating a long-chain carboxylic acid of at least 50% by weight of the carboxylic acid component used to make polyester resins which are further incorporated into polyurethane resins provides basecoat composition exhibiting low temperature flash characteristics. These low temperature flash characteristics are exhibited even where the basecoat is deposited at 50-90% relative humidity.
