Abstract: A process for producing a water-absorbing polymer by polymerizing a monomer solution and drying the resulting hydrogel by means of a heated gas stream comprises effecting the drying in two or more temperature zones, and/or the gas stream is flowed against the hydrogel upwardly in the upstream sector of the belt dryer and downwardly in the downstream sector of the belt dryer, the direction of flow being reversed at a water content of 15% to 45% by weight for the hydrogel, and/or the hydrogel layer is flowed against in a belt dryer upwardly to some extent at least, the gas velocity being 5% to 30% of the gas velocity required to lift the hydrogel off the belt, also apparatus for carrying out the process and use of the water-absorbing polymers produced by the process to produce hygiene articles.

Abstract: Nitrogen oxide storage materials and methods of manufacturing nitrogen oxide storage materials are disclosed. The nitrogen oxide storage materials can be used to manufacture catalytic trap disposed in an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine which is operated periodically between lean and stoichiometric or rich conditions, for abatement of NOx in an exhaust gas stream which is generated by the engine. Abstract: An organic photovoltaic (OPV) device is provided. The OPV device comprises at least one photovoltaic layer, said layer comprising a mixture which comprises at least one diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) polymer and at least one stabilizing agent wherein the stabilizing agent is selected from the group consisting of a UV absorbing agent and an anti-radical agent. Abstract: A pulp making process in which fibrous cellulosic material is pulped to form an aqueous suspension of cellulosic material, the suspension is drained through a screen to form a pulp sheet and that the pulp sheet is dried to form a dry market pulp, in which a water soluble cationic polymer is added to the suspension as the sole drainage aid wherein the water-soluble cationic polymer is either, i) a copolymer comprising (a) between 1 and 70 mole % (meth) acrylamide and (b) between 30 and 99 mole % (meth) acryloyloxyethyl-trimethyl ammonium chloride with an intrinsic viscosity between 5 and 9 dl/g; or ii) a hydrolysed homopolymer of vinylformamide comprising between 1 and 100 mole % vinyl amine units and having a K value of between 45 and 240. The process of the invention provides improved drainage time and solids content of the dewatered pulp.
