Abstract: The present invention relates to 5-isopropyl-3-aminomethyl-2-methyl-1-aminocyclohexane (carvonediamine) and to a process for preparation thereof by a) reacting carvone with hydrogen cyanide, b) then reacting the carvonenitrile obtained in stage a) with ammonia in the presence of an imine formation catalyst and c) then reacting the carvonenitrile imine-containing reaction mixture obtained in stage b) with hydrogen and ammonia over hydrogenation catalysts. The present invention further relates to the use of carvonediamine as a hardener for epoxy resins, as an intermediate in the preparation of diisocyanates, as a starter in the preparation of polyetherols and/or as a monomer for polyamide preparation.

Abstract: Polymer emulsion compositions for use in printing inks and printing inks made from the compositions are provided. Abstract: An oxidation catalyst for the treatment of exhaust gas emissions, such as the oxidation of unburned hydrocarbons (HC), and carbon monoxide (CO) and the reduction of nitrogen oxides (NOx) from a diesel engine and methods of exhaust gas treatment are disclosed. More particularly, a washcoat composition is disclosed comprising at least two washcoat layers, a first washcoat comprising palladium supported on ceria-zirconia and ceria-zirconia-alumina and a second washcoat containing one or more of platinum and palladium and one or more hydrocarbon storage components. An undercoat may also be included in the catalyst. Also disclosed are method of exhaust gas treatment and diesel exhaust gas treatment systems that include the oxidation catalyst and a downstream soot filter.
Abstract: Disclosed are electret materials with outstanding thermal and charge stability. The electret materials comprise a melt blend of a thermoplastic polymer and one or more hindered hydroxylamine ester compounds that comprise at least one moiety of the formula I where Ra? is a monoacyl or diacyl radical; R1-R4 are each C1-C6alkyl; and R5 and R6 are each, independently of one another, hydrogen, C1-C6alkyl or C6-C10aryl; or R5 and R6 are together oxygen. The melt blends are subjected to an electet treatment, for example a corona treatment. The electret materials are for example nonwoven polyolefin webs and are employed as filter materials, wipes, absorbent materials, filter masks, acoustic materials, printing substrates, measuring devices or contactless switches. The present electret materials may also comprise a further additive selected from the group consisting of the hindered amine light stabilizers, the hydroxyphenylalkylphosphonic esters or monoesters and the aromatic trisamide nucleating agents.
