Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparing isocyanates by reacting the corresponding amines with phosgene in the gas phase, if appropriate in the presence of at least one inert medium, the phosgene being passed into a reactor (21) through a first inlet and the amine through a second inlet of an ejector (1). The first inlet and the second inlet open into a mixing zone (17) in which the phosgene and the amine are mixed to give a reaction mixture. The mixing zone (17) is followed downstream by a diffuser (19) in which pressure and temperature of the reaction mixture composed of phosgene and amine are increased.

Abstract: This invention provides methods for improving reproductive performance of lactating dairy cows and other mammals. The method in the case of cows comprises feeding to the cows, a composition comprising conjugated linoleic acids (CLAs), cis-9, trans-11 and trans-10, cis-12. When these CLAs are fed daily to dairy cows starting at or prior to calving, and continued after parturition, an improvement in reproductive performance is observed.

Abstract: Described is a microorganism belonging to the group of lactic acid bacteria which is able to drastically reduce the peptide concentration in saliva thereby depleting the substrate used by anaerobic microorganisms of the oral micro-flora which are the causative agent for oral malodour. Moreover, described is a microorganism belonging to the group of lactic acid bacteria which is able to stimulate the growth of Streptococcus salivarius but does not stimulate the growth of Streptococcus mutans and/or Porphyromonas gingivalis. Also described are compositions containing the above-mentioned microorganisms, their use for preventing and/or treating oral malodour and/or halitosis and to methods for preventing and/or treating oral malodour and/or halitosis.
