Abstract: The present invention relates to polyol dispersions comprising at least one polyol and at least one polymer particle mixture comprising at least one thermoplastic polymer (P) and at least one block copolymer (B), wherein the block copolymer (B) has at least one block which is compatible with the thermoplastic polymer (P) and at least one block which is compatible with the polyol, a process for producing such polyol dispersions, their use for producing polyurethanes and a process for producing polyurethanes.
Abstract: A two-component nozzle (200) for the pneumatic delivery of solid particulates is disclosed. The nozzle generally includes an inner conduit (210) for conveying solid particulates such as superabsorbent polymer particles and an outer conduit (220) for conveying an outer airflow that is directed via a foraminous plate (300) into the path of the solid particulates exiting the nozzle. The outer airflow improves the weight distribution of the solid particulates as they are deposited onto a substrate to form a composite material. The nozzle (200) can optionally deliver other components such as fluff, binders, and water in addition to the solid particulates. A production process for the composite material, suitable for inclusion in an absorbent articles, also is disclosed.
Abstract: The invention is a cost-effective method and formulation for cold paving applications that can be used to convert an unpaved surface, such as a gravel or dirt roadway, into a paved surface. The method includes applying an asphalt emulsion comprising asphalt, water, one or more emulsifiers, and a polymer to an existing unpaved surface to provide a layer of asphalt emulsion. An aggregate is then deposited over the emulsion layer to form a paved surface. The asphalt emulsion is formulated so that it can be used in a wide variety of conditions and with locally available aggregate. The set rate and viscosity of the asphalt emulsion can be selected so that it is able to penetrate partially into the unpaved surface to further improve the stability and rain resistance of the roadway.

Abstract: A method that is suitable for modelling and simulating optical properties in special effect paints which contain pigments with isotropic light-scattering properties and pigments with anisotropic light-scattering properties, and the effect-producing substances form at least one layer of material or coat of paint on a suitable substrate. The method is also suitable for reproducing a shade of colour of a colour template of a special effect paint of this kind, by determining and comparing the optical properties of the colour template and a formulation of a paint mock-up, so that using the comparison a correction can be made to the formulation for the paint mock-up and the shades of colour of the colour template and paint mock-up can be matched.
