Abstract: The invention relates to a method for deactivating and recovering boron trifluoride when producing polyisobutenes by means of cationic polymerization of isobutene or hydrocarbon streams containing isobutene in the liquid phase in the presence of boron trifluoride or in the form of a boron trifluoride catalyst complex. The catalyst complex is separated, essentially in the liquid phase, from the reactor discharge. The method comprises the following steps: a) removing from the polymerization reactor at ?60 to 020 C., methanol, ethanol or a mixture of methanol and ethanol in such a quantity that an alcohol phase rich in boron trifluoride is formed; b) separating the alcohol phase according to (a) and, (c) optionally recycling the boron trifluoride of the alcohol phase obtained from (b) to the method in a suitable manner.

Abstract: A description is given of the use of an alkylenediamine of the type R1HN—X—NHR2, where X is an alkylene radical having from 2 to 9 carbons, R1 is a hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 6 carbons and R2 is a hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 6 carbons or is hydrogen (H) for removing sour gases from a sour-gas-containing fluid stream, and of a process for deacidifying a fluid stream of this type and a wash liquid or absorption liquid for use in such a process. According to the invention, in at least one absorption step, the fluid stream is brought into intimate contact with a wash liquid, the wash liquid comprising an aqueous amine solution which comprises at least one tertiary aliphatic alkanolamine having from 2 to 12 carbons and an activator of the above type R1HN—X—NHR2. The fluid stream which is substantially freed from sour gases and the sour-gas-loaded wash liquid are then separated from one another.
Abstract: In a process for preparing acrylic acid, an acrylic acid-containing product gas mixture obtained by catalytic gas phase partial oxidation of a C3 precursor of acrylic acid, after direct cooling with a quench liquid, is fractionally condensed in a separating column provided with internals, rising into itself with sidestream takeoff of crude acrylic acid, and the acrylic acid oligomers which form are dissociated and the resulting dissociation gas is subjected to a countercurrent rectification before it is recycled.
