Abstract: A wellbore sealing assembly including a downhole device with a sealing sleeve coupled to the uphole end. The downhole device has an internal channel allowing fluid communication through the device that is substantially blocked when a ball is seated in the sleeve. The walls of the sleeve are elastically or plastically deformable, and are shaped to be deformed when the ball is seated. When deformed, the walls are in contact with the wellbore surface substantially blocking fluid communication around the device. Elastically deformable walls of the sleeve may further include a plastically deformable layer on its inner surface that, once deformed by the seating of the ball, keep the elastically deformed walls in contact with the wellbore surface when the ball is not seated.

Abstract: A distance measuring system includes a light emitting member, an optical member, an image sensing member, and a computing member. The light emitting member provides a light beam to an object. The optical member is disposed on a transmission path of the light beam reflected by the object. The image sensing member is disposed on a transmission path of the part of the light beam passing through the optical member, and the image sensing member has an image sensing area for receiving the part of the light beam passing through the optical member and receiving the part of the light beam not passing through the optical member. The computing member compares a difference between the deformation area and the non-deformation area of the object image so as to obtain a distance variation of the object.
Abstract: In one aspect, the present disclosure relates to click-functional antimicrobial molecules (including small molecules or, in some cases, macromolecules) and the construction of antimicrobial polymers such as polyurethanes, polyesters, and polyacrylates, including through the use of such molecules. In some cases, the antimicrobial click-functional molecules are based on 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one (BIT), trimethylguanidine or tetramethylguanidine (TMG), polyhexamethylene guanidine (PHMG), fluorine-containing molecules, or a combination thereof. For example, 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one (BIT) functionalized with an alkyne (BIT-Al), trimethylguanidine or tetramethylguanidine (TMG) functioned with an alkyne (TMG-Al) or dual alkynes (TMG-dAl), and/or polyhexamethylene guanidine (PHMG) functionalized with an alkyne (PHMG-Al) are described herein. Clickable antimicrobial polymers can be used to form coatings or films.
Abstract: Devices and methods for selectively oxidizing silicon are described herein. An apparatus for selective oxidation of exposed silicon surfaces includes a thermal processing chamber with a plurality of walls, first inlet connection and a second inlet connection, wherein the walls define a processing region within the processing chamber, a substrate support within the processing chamber, a hydrogen source connected with the first inlet connection, a heat source connected with the hydrogen source, and a remote plasma source connected with the second inlet connection and an oxygen source. A method for selective oxidation of non-metal surfaces, can include positioning a substrate in a processing chamber at a temperature less than 800° C., flowing hydrogen into the processing chamber, generating a remote plasma comprising oxygen, mixing the remote plasma with the hydrogen gas in the processing chamber to create an activated processing gas, and exposing the substrate to the activated gas.

Abstract: A set of priority parameters for network traffic on the data communication network is stored. Based on a specific application determination, based at least in part on a source IP address, a source port address, a destination IP address, a destination port address and a protocol, an airtime fairness ratio (ATR) for the session with a specific station from the set of priority parameters concerning application priority is assigned. A higher ATR results in more packets being stored in the queue for processing and a lower ATR results in fewer packets being stored in the queue for processing, thereby affecting airtime.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for analyzing conversational statements and providing feedback in real-time. Audio stream data is recorded by a communication device and converted into a logical analysis format representation. Logical analysis is performed automatically on the logical analysis format representation of the natural-language statement. The logical analysis identifies one or more candidate output resolutions and identifies supplemental data that can confirm the one or more candidate output resolutions. The identified supplemental data is accessed and the one or more candidate output resolutions are evaluated based at least in part on the supplemental data. A feedback message is generated and displayed on the mobile communication device. The feedback message is indicative of the evaluation of the one or more candidate output resolutions and may provide a recommended follow-up question to be asked by the user of the communication device in the current conversation.
