Patent number: 9603501Abstract: A dishwashing machine is used for pre-rinse operation of soiled dishes. A cavity is configured and arranged to contain the soiled dishes. A nozzle is proximate the cavity and is in fluid communication with the cavity. An accumulator pan accumulates wash and rinse water including cleaning chemicals used in a previous cycle of the dishwashing machine. A fluid passageway interconnects the nozzle and the accumulator pan. A pump directs the accumulated wash and rinse water from the accumulator pan to the nozzle via the fluid passageway for pre-rinse operation of the soiled dishes in the cavity, and the nozzle directs the accumulated wash and rinse water into the cavity with the soiled dishes to assist in removing soil from the soiled dishes prior to a wash cycle of the dishwashing machine. The wash cycle utilizes fresh wash water.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 2011Date of Patent: March 28, 2017Assignee: Ecolab USA Inc.Inventor: Adrian E. Hartz

Patent number: 9606605Abstract: In an embodiment, an integrated circuit includes multiple instances of a component (e.g. a processor) and a control circuit. The instances may be configured to operate in various modes. Some of the modes are incapable of presenting a worst-case load on the power supply. The control circuit may be configured to monitor the instances and detect the modes in which the instances are operating. Based on the monitoring, the control circuit may request to recover a portion of the voltage margin established for worst-case conditions in the instances. If the instances are to change modes, they may be configured to request mode change from the control circuit. If the mode change causes an increase in the current supply voltage magnitude (e.g. to restore some of the recovered voltage margin), the control circuit may cause the restore and permit it to complete prior to granting the mode change.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2014Date of Patent: March 28, 2017Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: John H. Patent number: 9606887Abstract: Embodiments provide a data persisting mechanism that allows for efficient, unobtrusive persisting of large volumes of data while optimizing the use of system resources by the persisting process. In an embodiment, the persisting process includes a self-tuning algorithm that constantly monitors persistence performance and that adjusts persistence time to maintain performance within user-defined criteria. From one aspect, this allows the persisting process to seamlessly adapt to changes in system environment (speeding up persistence during times of low processor usage and slowing down persistence during times of high processor usage) and to reduce or eliminate CPU spikes caused by persisting process. From another aspect, the persisting process results in the data being persisted as quickly as possible given the system constraints, thereby minimizing the possibility of data loss.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2014Date of Patent: March 28, 2017Assignee: RIVERBED TECHNOLOGY, INC.Inventors: Joseph D. Patent number: 9608327Abstract: The range of a Near Field Communications (NFC) in an electronic device is boosted by positioning a magnet near the center of a spiral loop NFC antenna. The magnet interacts with a modulated magnetic field generated by the antenna, concentrating the power of the modulated field. The magnet may be part of another component of the device, such as a magnet in the zoom mechanism of a camera. If the electronic device has a metal case, performance of the NFC antenna is further enhanced by including an opening through the metal over an axis of the magnet and a segment of the antenna's spiral loop, and by extending the opening to eliminate a parasitic current pathway around the antenna. The extended opening in the metal case significantly reduces the effect of eddy currents generated in the housing that counter the NFC magnetic field.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2014Date of Patent: March 28, 2017Assignee: AMAZON TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Seng Chin Tai, Chun Kit Lai, Adrian Napoles
