Abstract: A VRRP router group can operate in either a standard VRRP mode or a distributed gateway mode in which all VRRP routers generate VRRP control packets but transmit those packets only to local access network-side hosts. The rate of VRRP control packet generation may be decreased in the distributed gateway mode relative to the standard mode. Moreover, VRRP router CPUs may cease processing of VRRP control packets in the distributed gateway mode.

Abstract: A transformer includes a primary winding unit, a secondary winding unit and a magnetic core. The primary winding unit includes a first input primary winding part and a first shielding winding part. The first input primary winding part is electrically connected to at least one switch component, and the first input primary winding part is electrically connected to the first shielding winding part. The secondary winding unit is inductively coupled to the primary winding unit, and the first shielding part is disposed between the first input primary winding part and the secondary winding part. Then, the primary winding unit and the secondary winding unit are assembled to the magnetic core.

The apparatus includes: an input unit for receiving an original image; an histogram equalization unit, coupled to the input unit, for performing contrast enhancement on the original image to produce a contrast-enhanced image; a factor-determination unit, coupled to the input unit and the histogram equalization unit, for determining a first factor based on the gray level of a pixel of the original image and the tone of the corresponding pixel of the contrast-enhanced image; and an adjustment unit, coupled to the input unit, the histogram equalization unit and the factor-determination unit.

Abstract: A system, various methods, and a specific apparatus are provided for the purpose of supporting push-to-talk (PTT) service for a very large group featuring a significantly higher number of listeners than the number of potential talkers, as well as a constrained vocabulary in normal usage. The invention takes advantage of speech-to-text and text-to-speech conversion in end user devices for maximum utterance compression. The invention uses the Iridium Mobile Satellite Service (MSS) system and its Short Burst Data (SBD) service for unicast transmission of talker utterances to a PTT Server, and the same system's Global Data Broadcast (GDB) service for multicast retransmission of utterances from the PTT Server to an effectively unlimited number of listeners. The PTT Server provides priority ordering and preemption as necessary when multiple talkers provide near-simultaneous utterances, effectively managing the floor without interactive protocols among the talkers.

The method further includes determining a location of the animal relative to the computing device based on the location data and the prey data.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for the controlled cursor's behavior. According to one example method, any desired data may be linked to a cursor and a desired cursor behavior could be defined to convey the linked data using the cursor. When a change in the linked data is detected, the example method includes using the desired cursor behavior to convey the changed data independent of a location where the cursor is placed on a screen.

Abstract: A method begins by a processing module receiving data for storage and interpreting the data to identify the data as redundant array of independent disks (RAID) data. The method continues with the processing module interpreting the RAID data to identify at least one of RAID block data and RAID parity data. When the RAID data includes RAID block data and RAID parity data the method continues with the processing module encoding the RAID block data in accordance with error coding dispersal storage function parameters to produce at least one set of encoded data slices and outputting the at least one set of encoded data slices to a dispersed storage network memory.

Abstract: An imaging lens assembly captures return light from a target, and projects the captured light onto a solid-state imager during electro-optical reading of the target. One plastic lens and one glass lens, together having a relatively low negative optical power, are situated at one side of an aperture stop. Another plastic lens and another glass lens, together having a relatively high positive optical power, are situated at the opposite side of the aperture stop. An aperture extends along an optical axis through the opposite sides. Each plastic lens is configured with opposite aspheric nearly concentric surfaces to widen and flatten the field of view of the imager, and to reduce sensitivity to manufacturing and assembly tolerances. A holder holds the lenses and the aperture stop in spaced relation along the optical axis relative to the imager.

Abstract: There is provided a method of placing a plurality of operational cells of a semiconductor device within a semiconductor layout, comprising determining timing data for each of the plurality of operational cells, determining switching activity from RTL or design constraints for each of the plurality of operational cells, determining power grid switch locations relative to each of the plurality of operational cells, deriving a cost function based upon the determined timing data, determined switching activity from RTL/design constraints and determined relative power grid switch locations and initially placing the plurality of operational cells according to the derived cost function.

Abstract: A capacitive touch panel includes sense electrodes arranged next to one another and drive electrodes arranged next to one another across the sense electrodes. The drive electrodes and the sense electrodes define a coordinate system where each coordinate location comprises a capacitor formed at a junction between one of the drive electrodes and one of the sense electrodes via mutual capacitance between the electrodes. The drive electrodes are configured to receive a first signal from a driver coupled with the drive electrodes for powering the drive electrodes to sense passive input to the capacitive touch panel at each coordinate location. Passive input can also be sensed via self-capacitance of the capacitive touch panel sensors. The drive electrodes and the sense electrodes are configured to receive a second signal from an active stylus to sense active input to the capacitive touch panel at each coordinate location.

Abstract: Methods and systems for a user to receive location-based services for user selected locations while maintaining the privacy of his/her location unless in the vicinity of a user selected location. A user designates selected locations to the LBS provider. The LBS provider digitally signs grid cell identifiers of approved locations and the signatures are stored in the user's mobile device. The mobile device determines the grid cell identifier of its current location, blinds the grid cell identifier, and sends the blinded grid cell identifier to the LBS provider. The LBS provider digitally signs the blinded grid cell identifier, and returns the signature to the mobile device. The mobile device removes the blinding from the blinded signature to obtain the digital signature for the grid cell identifier. The user's mobile device then compares the signature of the grid cell identifier with those stored in its memory to determine whether the user is near any approved locations.

Abstract: Systems and methods may measure and rank a user's role in propagation of content within a population of users. In one aspect, the systems and methods allow a user to register a piece of content and to refer the registered content to a second user. The second user may refer the registered content to other users. The systems and methods track the propagation of the registered content among the users, and rank a user's relevance in propagating the registered content among the other users.

Abstract: A system and method of cluster debugging includes detecting debug events occurring in one or more first virtual machines, storing debug records, each of the debug records including information associated with a respective debug event selected from the debug events and a timestamp associated with the respective debug event, merging the debug records based on information associated with each timestamp, starting one or more second virtual machines, each of the one or more second virtual machines emulating a selected one of the one or more first virtual machines, synchronizing the one or more second virtual machines, retrieving the merged debug records, and playing the merged debug records back in chronological order on the one or more second virtual machines. In some examples, the method further includes collecting clock synchronization records. In some examples, merging the debug records includes altering an order of one or more of the debug records based on the clock synchronization records.

Abstract: A vehicle trim structure for attachment of a resilient clip includes a flange extending generally orthogonally from an interior wall of an automotive vehicle and a plurality of ribs protruding generally orthogonally from the flange. The flange includes a proximal end integral with the interior wall, a distal end separated from the interior wall, an interior face spanning between the proximal end and the distal end, and an exterior face spanning between the proximal end and the distal end, opposite the interior face. Abstract: A connector having a magnetically attractable support loosely attachable to an exterior surface of the replaceable item for use in an image forming device. The connector is interconnectable with a second connector of the image forming device, the second connector having a magnet and an electrical contact adjacent to an operating position of the replaceable item wherein when the connector is attached to the replaceable item and the replaceable item is in the operating position, a magnetic field draws the support away from the replaceable item and the electrical contact of the connector into operational contact with the electrical contact of the second connector. The mounting of the support allows the support to be drawn away from the replaceable item and remain attached thereto.

Abstract: The embodiments described herein provide a system and method for efficiently storing small, random modifications or changes to data on one or more storage devices, such as disks, of storage servers coupled to a host computer in a network environment. Illustratively, the data is stored in a region of a byte-addressable, persistent memory of the host computer and is replicated (i.e., copied) as changed data of the region on the disks at the granularity at which it was modified, e.g., at the byte-addressable granularity. To that end, each storage server employs a data structure (e.g., a Fibonacci array) that is configured to efficiently accumulate the small, random data changes into one or more large blocks of changed data for storage on the disks in a manner that realizes the streaming bandwidth of the disk.

Abstract: A method for authenticating a node of a dispersed storage network (DSN). In various embodiments, a dispersed storage (DS) management unit receives a device list originating from a hardware certificate authority (HCA). The HCA also provides a hardware certificate to the node. Upon receiving the hardware certificate from the node, the DS management unit determines if the certificate is valid by comparing it to information contained in the device list (such as a device ID or a serial number associated with the node). If the certificate is valid, the DS management unit sends a challenge message to the node and analyzes the resulting challenge message response to determine if it is valid. If the response is valid, the DS management unit provides a signed certificate to the node for use in authenticating the node to perform dispersed storage operations within the DSN.

Abstract: Mechanisms are provided for generating and modifying live media streams. A device establishes a session and requests a media stream from a content server. The content server provides the media stream to the device. The content server also obtains an insertion stream for inclusion in the media stream. Packets are removed from the media stream to allow inclusion of the insertion stream. Timestamp information and sequence number information is maintained to allow uninterrupted delivery of the modified media stream.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a wear pad assembly for mounting on a tool. The problem addressed is the mounting of the wear pad assembly such that it can be quickly attached to a tool in a non-permanent manner. The disclosure provides a wear pad assembly for a tool comprising an edge provided with one or more holes. The wear pad assembly comprises a wear-resistant pad, a mounting bracket configured for attachment to the wear-resistant pad, and a quick-release pin for securing the wear pad assembly to the tool edge.
