Abstract: Method and system for managing address prefix information associated with handover in network. A fast handover process is achieved for point-to-point communication model. A mobile node send a provisional new care-of-address with an aggregate prefix part to its previous access router, which forwards the address to a new access router. The new access router in response generates a modified new care-of-address with a unique prefix part for the mobile node. Alternatively, the mobile node sends a request to the previous access router for a unique prefix. The request is forwarded from the previous access router to the new access router. The new access router assigns a unique prefix for the mobile node.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a soothing cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition comprising at least one peptide that activates human HMG-CoA reductase of general formula (I): R1-(AA)n-X1-Gly-Glu-Leu-Ser-X2-X3-(AA)p-R2 and a physiologically suitable medium. The present invention further relates to the utilization of this novel peptide as a soothing active principle in a cosmetic composition. The invention further applies to a cosmetic treatment method intended to combat skin irritations.

Abstract: Some of the embodiments herein provide a seamless cloud of storage. This storage may be content-addressable storage. An end application may or may not be exposed to the fact that content-addressable storage is used. Various embodiments herein provide event notification, which may allow applications or users to subscribe to particular events (such as storage of an X-ray by a particular entity). Some embodiments provide for a shared archive. A shared archive may provide homogeneous access to medical data, etc. that was previously stored into the CAS cloud by heterogeneous applications, varied data types, etc. Additionally, embodiments herein allow for the creation and distribution of virtual packages. For example, a user may create a virtual package for all images related to a patient so that she may have a virtual package of all of her medical data to present to a referring physician.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides novel techniques for defining empirical models having control, prediction, and optimization modalities. The empirical models may include neural networks and support vector machines. The empirical models may include asymptotic analysis as part of the model definition as allow the models to achieve enhanced results, including enhanced high-order behaviors. The high-order behaviors may exhibit gains that are non-zero trending, which may be useful for controller modalities.

Abstract: The initial systems analysis of a new data source fully defines each data element and also designs, tests and encodes complete data integration instructions for each data element. A metadata cache stores the data element definition and data element integration instructions. The metadata cache enables a comprehensive view of data elements in an enterprise data architecture. When data is requested that includes data elements defined in a metadata cache, the metadata cache and associated software modules automatically generate database elements to fully integrate the requested data elements into existing databases.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer programs for managing memory in a host where virtual machines (VMs) execute are presented. In one embodiment, a method includes an operation for determining which amount of heap memory has been reserved in a Java virtual machine (JVM) that is in excess of the heap memory needed by the JVM. If there is excess heap memory, a Java balloon agent reserves a Java object in the heap memory. Typically, the Java object will be the size of one or more memory pages in the host. Further, the Java balloon agent loads the Java object with a certain value, for example, by zeroing out the page of memory. When a virtual machine monitor (VMM) in the host detects that a machine physical memory page associated with the Java object has the first value, then the VMM frees the machine physical memory page to make the memory available to other VMs or to other processes executing in the host.

Abstract: The invention is directed to monitoring execution of software threads, particularly by detecting a lockup or stall in execution of a software thread and initiating a remedial action in response. Advantageously, some embodiments of the invention automatically detect a lockup or stall in execution of a software thread by periodically sampling information corresponding to the thread, and, in accordance with a determination made using the information, initiate an attempt to recover from such a condition in execution without the need for manual intervention.

Abstract: A tunable mass damper (TMD) is provided that can be coupled to a rotating inertia apparatus such as a reaction wheel assembly (RWA). The TMD includes a housing that contains a flexure, a mass, and damping fluid within the housing. The housing is coupled to the flexure, and the flexure is coupled to the mass. The mass is free to sway in the damping fluid. The damping fluid envelops the mass and provides damping between the mass and the housing. At least one of the mass, flexure and the damping fluid can be adjusted to tune the TMD to produce a resonance at or near a mode that is to be mitigated by the TMD such that it operates at a desired or optimal operating frequency.

An exemplary process of identifying alphabetic patterns includes assigning at least one letter in an alphabet to a first digit, assigning at least one other letter in an alphabet to a second digit, accessing a telephone number database storing telephone numbers having a plurality of digits, identifying a letter combination created by at least two digits of at least one of the telephone numbers in the telephone number database, and determining whether the letter combination forms an alphabetic pattern as defined by a reference list.

Abstract: A reflow oven chamber assembly that is configured to be installed within a reflow oven chamber of a reflow oven includes a chamber housing disposed within the reflow oven chamber, one or more heating elements disposed in the chamber housing, and one or more compression box assemblies disposed in the chamber housing. The compression box assembly includes a compression box housing having an intake port located adjacent the heating element, an intake duct disposed in the compression box, and a diffuser plate disposed above the intake duct. The intake duct has an inlet opening in fluid communication with the intake port of the compression box housing and an outlet opening. The compression box assembly is configured to draw heated air into the compression box housing from the reflow oven chamber through the intake port and into the inlet opening of the intake duct and exhaust air out of the outlet opening of the intake duct to the diffuser plate.

The virtual network identifier rewrite component may assign the new virtual network identifier to the data frame according to a specific virtual network identifier rewrite rule.

Abstract: An adaptor is provided that is configured to receive a support assembly for mounting a flexible fire sprinkler fitting in a ceiling support structure formed of parallel, spaced beams. The adaptor includes first and second long sides configured to be secured to each beam of an adjacent pair of beams, and first and second short sides configured to be secured to the support assembly. One end of each long side is joined by the first short side, and an opposed end of each long side is joined by the second short side such that the first and second long sides are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the first and second short sides, whereby the adaptor is a generally elongated, hollow, rectangular structure. The adaptor permits the support assembly to be mounted in a suspended ceiling formed of hat channel or metal stud furring.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for pasteurizing milk or other fluids, and for cleaning and disinfecting processing passageways prior to and after the milk processing. The disclosed pasteurization systems and methods have very low impact on the characteristics of raw, unpasteurized milk (e.g., texture, flavor, and/or nutritional value). For example, some systems and methods utilize a pump that operates at a very low flow rate (e.g., about 1 gallon per minute (GPM)) to prevent mechanical adulteration of the raw milk. Disclosed systems and methods for cleaning and disinfecting the fluid passageways also utilize a low-flow rate, and can use the same low flow pump that is utilized during pasteurization. A pressure pulser allows pressure to build up within the fluid passageways despite the low flow, and then releases the pressure to purge air from the passageways and to cause their interior surfaces to contact the cleaning fluid.
